Most likely insurance will be more expensive on an import (they'll claim parts more expensive blah blah). Probably more difficult to sell later as well. Give it 5-10 years, will be a different story. Right now the new Z doesn't have a lot of appeal considering alternatives for the same budget / power ratio. Hi. If any one evet needs any help with insurance for a Japanese import vehicle then please feel free to drop me a line. Regards, Dan. 1 1 Quote

I tried getting quotes from Adrian Flux three times so far, two for my 350z and one for Lexus, it was always at least twice more expensive than the others. I declared everything as same as I did for others but still... First year the quote I got was 4 times more expensive. Do you have any tips to get lower quotes? Maybe I was doing something wrong idk 😅 Quote

My postcode is fine, I got quotes much lower than them. I just don’t understand why they gave me quotes that high. This year their quote: £1,618.78 competitor: £580 last year their quote: £5,028.51 after phone call: around £6000 if I remember correctly competitor: ~£1400 Quote
Ekona Posted Sunday at 17:49 Posted Sunday at 17:49 Very simple, they don’t want your business as, for whatever reason, your risk is too high for them. Don’t sweat it, move on and go with someone cheaper with the same coverage 🙂 Quote

ShortPaul Posted Sunday at 19:04 Posted Sunday at 19:04 So why do ask people to get in touch if you're not competitive? I have also found you way more expensive than other companies 1 Quote
Engin Posted yesterday at 06:35 Posted yesterday at 06:35 Back to topic then sorry I am thinking more and more about the new Z, especially after the facelift. I am obsessed with 350, will never replace it with anything else, that is off the table for me. However, if Nissan was selling these here and I had the money, and I am not talking about life changing amount, like enough deposit to keep the monthly payments for finance around £300-£400 then I would buy it as the third car. One year ago, I wouldn't go near it. Idk, after seeing videos about it, and I know it is not perfect... I think I am more emotional when it comes to cars than rational 2 Quote
GranTurismoEra Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I remember Adrian Flux calling me regarding the 350Z in 2014 The quote given was way too high. I went with an Irish company who gave it for 1200 pounds. Well im seeing new M2 for 60 on Autotrader assuming the order would be £65,000. Nissan want to sell the Nismo for the same price apparently. The new M2 will be Xdrive and will probably be similarly priced £65000. An appropriate price for the Z GT new would be around £45,000 and Nismo £55,000. The Z sport is a base model should be £39,000. If rumors are true about current imports from Japan occasionally having discounted duties or HMRC discretion. Figures are based on what a brand new GT (ST) cost in Japan of around £37,000. Its probably less now the hype is dead. Bare in mind you can import these at 10k less with an abundance of swappable parts from the 370Z and Q60. Service parts are similar. Theres 2 for sale in Birmingham. Decent specs. Then again id never buy a car from Birmingham. Quote

It is not a rumour, I imported mine late 2024 and duty was 2,5% instead of 10% due to it being a jap car manufacured in Japan. It is same for companies as well, as long as it is manufactured in Japan. It would be a different story for Japanese cars manufactured outside of Japan though. Quote
