supamalc Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) A few of you may remember this car from 2004 when it had a memorable meeting with other Z owners at Portmeirion in Wales! Do any of those members still have their cars? The car has now covered 39,000 miles and still does its' party piece of a few donuts every now and then I think this is possibly the only prototype that escaped Nissan's crusher and costing 100,000 Euros to build it was only surpassed by the Z concept in 2001 which I also had the honour of driving at the Louis Vuitton Classic in Paris that year! I still have the display sign from that show which I was told to throw away! I was fortunate to have looked after my road car during its show life, never knowing that I would end up buying it! The only modification is the tinted windows and of course USA sized front number plate in the grille. I also have an orange leather interior at the moment as the original black one is stored safely. supamalc Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 Ok guys (and gals) sorry I only posted pic on main gallery, now you have it here too Quote
Stuggerz Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 As a prototype is there any big difference to the main production? Quote
supamalc Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) Hi again, the car was originally pulled from the US production line in December 2002 and fitted with a newly designed European suspension, the 287bhp engine and exhaust system was left in place. The interior has some airbags missing and retains the 160mph speedo although there is no speed limiter. It was upgraded to 'pack' model spec so has the 240 watt sound system, electric heated leather seats, 18" RAYS etc The centre dash cover is not production as it has a soft opening retracting cover. Both front and rear bumpers are 'hand made' one offs with the headlamp washer covers being fake stick on covers, as a show.car it never had the ugly front plate holder fitted . It also had a 240v transformer in the boot when I got it which was fitted in Japan for Motor Show use. I have all the customs paperwork for the car as well as the video footage of it being driven at 150mph on closed roads in Scotland. I hopefully will start driving the car to shows so more people can enjoy it I acquired the car in late 2003 and registered in 2004 after an SVA test. Edited July 12, 2016 by supamalc 3 Quote
