Juggalo Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Looks too good to be true at that price http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ford/sierra/ford-sierra-cosworth-rs-saphire-immaculate-fsh-2-keys/5529744?v=b Quote
JetSet Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 They had over 200 bhp, that add says 150 bhp the same as the XR4i. Doesn't show up on DVLA search either. I considered one of these back in the 80's but the insurance was something like 4x what I was paying for my Capri 2.8i. Pete Quote
G1en Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Are these one of those 80,s cars you could break into with a coat hanger in 5 secs and thats why insurance was sky high. I think this era forced the introduction of imobilisers and alarms as standard issue from then on. Not old enough to remember so someone can correct me if im talking rubbish Quote
Davectr Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Just type the reg into Google and look at the results - Nuff said! 😳 Quote
ZEUS Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Yeah looks like that needs reporting. Edit: reported Edited April 9, 2016 by ZEUS Quote
G1en Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Yep from what you can read on this forum and other sites i have come to one conclusion Never buy a car between 4k and 5k that seems a steal Because the only steal being had will be your money Quote
marzman Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Top result on google search is a Facebook post stating: 'Becareful guys theres Cosworth on Ebay F642 TEF its up for 5500 in Edinburgh also in London 16k ad has been cloaned' Quote

I think this era forced the introduction of imobilisers and alarms as standard issue from then on. Not old enough to remember so someone can correct me if im talking rubbish I would imagine the Cosworth came with a factory alarm/ immobiliser, my 1989 Escort RS Turbo did but yeah they were fairly easy to get into. There were a number of tricks, some of which are probably still used today but I think the days of using a coat hanger are over . I remember years ago when "Car" magazine had two Cosworths that they were testing/reviewing and following the RAC Rally. They were parked up right outside a well known hotel in Newcastle and were blocked in by parking a couple of vehicles right in front and behind them. Next morning they'd gone, thieves must have used a fork lift truck to put them on a low loader..............that's how desirable they were. Pete Quote
Lexx Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Yeah looks like that needs reporting. Edit: reported Ahhh lighten up. I believe he is referring to the advert being reported, not your inappropriate post which I have already removed. Quote

Justthejedi Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 A Cosworth RS500 in concours condition now commands £100k price tag! Quote
JetSet Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 A Cosworth RS500 in concours condition now commands £100k price tag! Excellent condition ones fetch £60-70k. Considering they were 20k when bought new in 1987 they have more than kept up with inflation. There's not that many cars that actually beat inflation, especially Fords Pete Quote
