NWZ Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Anybody else have a problem filling right up to the brim? For the last week when I fill up to the clicks and the gauge is only showing 3/4 full. I reckon I'm losing about £10 a tank which is a pain if I'm doing long journeys. To give you more of an idea, filled up from nearly empty yesterday, dte read 80 miles, cost £45.00, dte now says 330 miles. Sounds about right but what happened to the 60? 70? litre tank (can't remember what size it is). Help! Quote
Sarnie Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 80 litre tank isn't it? Filling up at 80 dte???? I used to take it right to the -------------------- and even then would do about 20 miles on that, fill up and still only get about 72 litres in it Quote
stuey Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 never had a problem filling mine up............ its the paying bit i struggle with.................. Quote
nixy Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 As i've mentioned before I have problems filling up full stop - got £40 quid in yesterday before I got bored of standing there with it clicking! Quote
marzman Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I take mine down to about 80km dte on my jdm, and then always have to put £60-£65 in of regular fuel, so 62litres? And i though jdm's hav a smaller tank? Quote
Zummertor Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Had a bit of trouble this morning, but it was the usual scenario. I tend to pull nozzle out a bit to one side to ensure an air gap down the side and then fill up ok, right up full according to the gauge. I've noticed this on a few cars and it tends to be at the same garage pumps that cause a problem and not the car. Filling up with fuel is one of my pet hates Quote
Toon Chris Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 When the pump clicks I can sometimes get about another half-litre in before it spills out. Must be the angle you hold it at Quote

RobPhoboS Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I've just noticed this as well. I can't fill the bloody thing up, it seems to go to around 3/4 full. Persevere with the clicky filling up ? Quote
Dblock Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I've just noticed this as well. I can't fill the bloody thing up, it seems to go to around 3/4 full. Persevere with the clicky filling up ? I usually take mine out a little and that seems to help, but my car hasnt done it for a while. Quote
Ekona Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Also worth trying holding the nozzle upside down too. Quote
BulletMagnet Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 When it clicks, I usually pull the nozzle out and fill till I see fuel in the fillerneck Quote
ChrisS Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I've just noticed this as well. I can't fill the bloody thing up, it seems to go to around 3/4 full. Persevere with the clicky filling up ? Nearly a 5 year ..................... "Holy thread revival" (good to see people using 'search' though) If it gets to the clicks and still says 3/4 full I'd suggest the fuel gauge need fixing. There is a brilliant guide in here somewhere. Quote
StevoD Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Im to scared to fill up seeing the £ go into triple figures, wouldnt mind but its to fun using it all up so fast Quote
Ebized Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Could be this? http://www.350z-tech.com/wiki/index.php?title=TSB_05-048_Fuel_Tank_Difficult_To_Fill Quote
RobPhoboS Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Many thanks guys, I'm wary of the gauge as it is (new year fix hopefully). Yeah a bit of a thread resurrection but at least it's a relevant one (I wish we were still on 2008 fuel prices!) Quote
BulletMagnet Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 For me, from a 30 miles DTE to a brimmed tank (I do wobble the car to release any trapped air bubbles) £80 Quote
