I must admit I missed all the furore on social media as I was enjoying dinner and walking dead with the other half - but apparently this happened.

There are two videos on the go showing it over 100 miles apart. So apart from the stated assumption it was a meteor exploding - What do YOU think it was?

Whether its related or not I dont know, but last night around midnight I noticed faint flashes in the eastern sky.

Its pretty dark around here at night with little light pollution so it was quite distinct.

At first, I thought someone was having a party with strobe lights or something, but it covered too much of the horizon.

My daughter was watching it as well, and if we stared at it for too long it messed with our heads!! Whoaah!

No explanation for it as yet.

Pretty sure on one of the videos you can see it dropping out the sky behind the trees on the left, you only glimpse it but clearly something with a fiery tail. Pretty spectacular all the same.
