Belated introduction!

Recommended Posts

Hey there, thought I'd finally say hello having owned my 2011 370z for the best part of a year!

Here's a couple of photos of the car shortly after taking delivery:

Like many I quickly became bored of the stock exhaust and after much deliberation (watching countless sketchy American youtube videos) I took the plunge and went for the HKS Hi Power Ti system, which I bought from Abbey Motorsport who were great to deal with. They arranged for it to be sent to AC Speedtech in Warrington to be fitted; I couldn't believe how rusty the old system was and they had a hell of a job getting it off. The HKS looks awesome and the sound is incredible. It isn't too intrusive at low revs and suffers from zero drone. I'll record some videos at some point soon...

I gave the car a proper detail one weekend which consisted of 2 days of puzzled neighbours coming over to tell me it was already clean and that I had a problem...

Next job was to respray the wheels which were looking a bit tired having lost a couple of battles with kerbs...

The previous owner had chosen not to replace tyres in pairs which made for some fishtailing fun at first but soon wore off when rep mobiles were getting the jump on me at lights in the wet.

So in the past week I've bought 2 new Michelin Pilot Super Sports for the rear and 2 new Pilot Sport 3s for the front from Camskill.

Also invested in some EBC Redstuff pads for the front from Cougar Store given the state of the old ones and that I've been getting the park brake, vdc and slip lights coming on under harder acceleration. Hoping they solve the issue...

Despite carefully parking my car away from harm at the gym the other day, someone quite skilfully managed to reverse into it. Luckily I know the guy, he broke the news to me and will be paying for a respray of the rear bumper when it goes in next week. Didn't appreciate the van driver who witnessed the fiasco apparently saying to him: "don't worry mate the cctv doesn't even work so you'll be fine"...

Welcome along mate, lovely looking zed. Shame about the bumper but at least there are still honest people around :)

Cheers, good job because I didn't even have the new dash cam installed. Not that it would've been much use anyway given it was facing a wall!

Welcome aboard David. :welcome:

Hope your exhaust sounds as good as it looks. B)

Cheers, I'll throw a video up when I've got something good enough to record it and do it justice! Winter cold starts are fun...

You need a GoPro... B):D

Imo. ;)

Haha I do indeed, love the set up on yours! Did the decat make a huge difference to the sound?

Welcome aboard, there seems to be quite a few newby red zed owners appearing lately, must be the new 'in' colour 😄

I've only seen one other red Z locally and that was a 350; I love how rare they are!

Just had a mooch at your build thread btw, stunning car. Where did you get the carbon fibre skinning done?

Thanks unfortunately I sold my Zed last July, ...still gutted but needed to be done due to getting a new house with my Mrs.

Prior to getting the De-Cats I was running HFC's (High Flow Cats) and yes it did make a difference to the sound fitting the De-Cats. Honestly though I can't say exactly how much of a difference they made as I had the car supercharged at the same time as fitting the De-Cats so the sound as a whole changed. ;)

My old build thread is linked in my signature if you ever fancy a look.
