Loving my new 350z

Recommended Posts

Hi, bought a UK GT 350z Nismo 6 weeks ago so just a quick intro and hello. Found the Forums very useful indeed before I bought the car so thanks.

Loving it. Previous cars include Golf GTi Mk2 16v, Series 2 Escort RS Turbo, Ford Sapphire Cosworth, BMW 330ci Clubsport, E36 M3 Evo, E46 M3. And a standard '99 Impreza Turbo (kept that for the winter!). The Z gets lots of attention and thumbs up wherever I go!

Took it to simply Japanese at Beulieu this weekend. Haven't done much to the car. Fixed the clicking rear axle, new Bridgestones all round, tinted the windows, and fitted a JWT Pop Charger to go with the Japspeed exhaust it had already. Since then I've mainly been driving through tunnels with the windows down :-)

Hi Itchy. How oes it compare to an e46 m3? I had the chance to buy my cousins one from him recently so slightly less than the price of a Zed. Immaculate 55 plate in that nice blue but as it had just hit 100k miles I declined. Are they as good as the hype?

The E46 is a great car. I've had a 330 and an M3. They're great all round cars, and yes I think they are as good as the hype. I'd have another one in a flash. 100k miles is when they start needing money spent and things start to go wrong though, so I'd try to find one with 70k max. Already hit the bottom of the market though imo and starting to go up in price. Mine was and 'individual' in that blue and was lovely. Very quick, and very easy to get the tail out. I very nearly got another one but didn't want yet another BMW! Expect to pay £10k ish for a sorted one with acceptable mileage and a decent history. Avoid the SMG they don't work that well. Great cars that do the sports car thing very well indeed while still being a saloon you can use every day. The E90 is a better car, but the E46 is better BMW, if that makes sense!

Thanks WINKJ, yes I'm happy with how it looks, pretty clean for 10yo car! I know it's just the factory Nismo kit i.e. splitter, skirts and rear wing only, but my understanding is that's all you could get in the UK? The full Nismo's with the suspension, nismo exhaust etc I thought were JDM only?
