  1. You will soon get fed up with doing that and the potential pitfalls
  2. If they do not centralize and lock your steering wheel before they check and adjust then you will probably end up with your steering wheel off centre.
  3. Hi and to the forum. Running costs depends on how lucky or unlucky you are. There are electrical components on the 350Z that are mega expensive like ECU, BCM, ABS Module etc.etc. There is no maintenance on these components so it is really down to luck. Overall, these components aside, the running costs of the Z are very reasonable. Low mileage with verified service history and no previous panel or paint work is a good start.
  4. more noise it must be quite a hard change with no dual mass to smooth the transition. i dont know if i'd like that more Yes you would the benefits far outway the very slight extra noise.
  5. Yes that is correct...How are you planning to power the charger??????

  10. +1 as above. One run with the de cats and one with the cats from the same dyno shop under the same conditions. That is the only way to get an informed result from your question.
  11. Hi Pete, I have a brand new still in box Genuine Nissan cover for a Roadster available. Remember the Coupe is a different cover. PM me if interested. Cheers, Alex.
  12. I would definately get a second opinion on the diagnoses of your ticking noise. If the noise is from your cams then the engine will have to come out if adjustment is required as the cam buckets will require replacement. The clearances can be checked in situ tho. If there is wear on your cams etc then this is usually down to running low on oil at some point. Unfortunately there estimate is about right. Have you checked the usual suspect, the fuel damper ?
  13. I have these trickle chargers available mate, only £15.00. They work great and are all you need. Only 4 left. Made in Germany 3 Year Guarantee Full Instructions Alex.

  16. If the car checks out okay and you have had a decent test drive and you do not have a p/x then I would offer 15K. You might not get that offer accepted but you will at least get a reaction. If the salesman gets shirty then ask to speak to the sales manager as he will not be on commision and he might just cut you a deal. Play hard ball as it is a buyer's market out there. Remember "shy boys don't get any sweeties"
  17. It would be the higher HP figure...but more that it's VAT deductible Yes I thought so. Well it is fantastic to get something back from this Government but with respect if money is an issue then FI is not for you. 10K on a shoestring: 20K to do it properly I know, thats why I'm doing it step by step approach. Next step would be to get it to 4.2l and then after that go the hog and do the rest... the E85 is just to get some nice hp figures with my haltech ecu unit, and get some monies back is a bonus but can be discussed as a reason to do it... duh... he he... 4.2Lt......The very best of luck to you mate.....Best go speak to your tuner.

  19. I do not think that you will find a tuner that will be capable of sorting your car to run Stock, Bigger injectors, E85 and FI. You will have to decide on what route you want to go and this is more complex than you think. For instance how are you planning to take degrees off your ignition for E85? E85 is in limited supply but I assume that you already know this. I can advice on options for all the above individually but really this advice should come from your chosen tuner. E85 Maybe thats why I've heard nothing back yet > For instance how are you planning to take degrees off your ignition for E85? < No clue... The supply of E85 is cool, have a few places nearby selling the stuff. Hmmm I do not think that you will find a tuner that will be capable of sorting your car to run Stock, Bigger injectors, E85 and FI. I think what I mean is that I would like to start my FI build with using bigger injectors and fuel pump and then once I want to go down the FI route (not related to E85) I'd keep the pump and bigger injectors and change internals and the 'rest' of things that needs to be changed for FI. More than likely the injectors that you run with the E85 will not be compatible with a FI set up. What is the attraction of E85 to you?

  21. Not sure what secret codes your talking about? You only need to run a 2nd cable if they are going from Sky to Sky+HD. If you already have Sky+ then you are fine. I bought my HD box of ebay and just plugged it in, phoned up Sky to get HD enabled and its been fine ever since. Just today I also cabled up a 2nd HD box myself by just running a cable from the LNB. Correct, but I believe that a virgin HD box is a slightly different install and is not plug and play but I stand to be corrected if that is not the case
  22. Hmmm, whats involved in the install? No adult channels in HD! Boooooooooooooooo! You could be right... I might wait for that! They have got to run another cable from your dish and enter a few secret codes, job done
  23. Unfortunately you do require a proper install. The new tv guide is good once you get used to it. My only gripe is the lack of HD channels but they will increase over time. Just do it ps. adult channel not available in HD so maybe this is not for you.
  24. Would you consider it dangerous ? I have an MOT certificate!
