  1. Christian, Okay update and recommendation for you. Your car was manufactured in 05/05 even though it was registerred in 04/06 The part number 47851 CD800 is correct and would cost me £3000.00 +vat from Nissan. The App. Model Specification is 07/03 - 09/05 (build date, not 1st registration date) It is officially called a Module Assy-Anti Skid A preowned part will be available from a breakers for £100- £200 max Nissan fitting and reprogramming as you been quoted is £150.00. Sounds like a cost effective fix to me. Good luck and keep me in the loop. You have a further pm regarding this but though that I would post up here for the benefit of others who may find thenselves in a similar situation. Alex.
  2. Great day had by all. It really was a cracking track day with no need to rush as it was a 7 hour open pit lane, so loadsa time on track and plenty time for cooling down, (car, driver and passenger) The majority of the drivers were well disciplined so it was really the perfect day for Stew to get to grips with some track day fun. The weather was good so no tyre changes for me and Stew was on T1Rs No need for me to go into great detail as Stew has given you a brief summary of the day. As you would expect he was a bit nervous and apprehensive as it is a big ask to go out on track for the first time as there are two straights at Knockhill where 130mph can be reached consistantly. He did have the benefit of previously being my passenger so he did know what to expect so that probably made him even more nervous. After numerous laps together he was let loose on his own and boy did he love it, there was no holding him back, lap after lap his lines got better and better, his braking and turn ins became more precise, he was beginning to find the apex and his power out the exits was well balanced. The apprehension was now well gone and the confidence was beginning to show through as his lap times began to drop as his driving became more relaxed and smoother. Stew's car stood up well to the Knockhill circuit as it is an extremely demanding and technical circuit, and his brake and suspension mods were well up to the task. He did remarkably well on the day and I saw a huge difference in his driving technique and application and by the end of the day I think he was well chuffed. I think that I will see him back Alex.
  3. On idle its better than before..much better...its only when pulling away...like something is badly grinding....like 2 cogs together or loose exhaust...or something in between...we thought it was the exhaust at first.... but after they changed the slave cylinder its slightly less... 3rd gear 1500 revs u boot it and you can here it...so embarrassing...then at about 2000 it disappears although i v got a suspicion that it could be still slightly there but i ll try again today... Like I said mate, more than likely Gearbox Idler Gear. Quite normal after fitting Lightened Flywheel. Alex.
  4. Yip, noise from gearbox idler gear becomes more apparent with the ally fly.
  5. You mean if you can find out if it fits an 07 Roadster.
  6. +1 and it fits from the differential aluminium cradle to the exhaust flange bolt/nut. I use general household earthing wire with a couple of connectors crimped on.
  7. Hi ill take it for asking if it fits an 07 roadster, do you have a pic or link to it so i can see thanks. Same as this but in black vinyl with no chrome ring on the top but it does have the phone holder http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/50-2589 To fit all you do is remove the ash tray and the "square" part of the drinks holder fits in where the ash tray was. It fits a 2005 Roadster, sorry, dunno about an 07. Alex.
  8. I have a spare brand new one finished in black vinyl if anyone wants it. £20.00 + £5.00 delivery. Alex.
  9. Good luck with this guys, hope one of you nail it. I personally would not want my Zed to be considered as it really is not my thing so the coverage should really go to someone with the proper car who will get a buz from the headlines and the plaudits. Thanks to all for the nominations Alex.
  10. Front and Rear Strut Braces? All angles definately covered now
  11. No you are not being unreasonable Rich, but principles can be costly and very time consuming.
  12. I've got the sets of 4 type available All angles covered now
  13. Even my cheapskate black plastic ones get nicked
  14. Would you not have preferred the Gt4 wheels or were you not given the option?
  15. I've got some new ones some where. Give me a shout if you don't get fixed up and I will look them out. Alex
  16. Didnt Adam say the long one was best for the Zed due to the distance to the bar? Hope I'm wrong +1
  17. Are you about to quote a 2 and half year old thread? ehm, no, but any FI application for the Zed "requires" a true dual exhaust to reduce back pressure and heat build up. +1......True Dual took 10 degrees off mine.
  18. I would still be very interested in what the previous owner has to say,
  19. My thoughts are as I have stated previously What you have there are cyl compression readings which are of no relevance to your issues. A Cylinder Leakage Test will identify any internal issues partaining to the above but my guess is that there is piston damage caused by det. Alex.
  20. I did not say major det It will not take much det to damage a piston on the VQ35 and in most cases lack of power will not be evident in the early stages. Trust me I have been there Would you like some pictures? Also a Cylinder Leakage Tester 2 Gauge would identify any potential internal issues re. bypass. But I would suspect that this has already been done and that the seller knows exactly what is wrong with his power unit.
  21. Do you really know what you may be letting yourself in for. More than likely det will have occurred causing potential piston damage. Poor control over ignition and fuel combined with oem internals is always a recipe for disaster with fi applications:surrender: Do not be fooled by the seller's sob tale as I am sure that he knows exactly what the issues are. The connection between clutch and failure is the CPS. Alex
