  1. yep, they are the originals. cheers, will try that
  2. Hiya, I inadvertantly left my book ajar the other night, the car didnt lock and someone looted it! There wasn't anything inside, but they did take the locking wheel nut key. Pretty annoying. Does anyone know the best thing I can do? Should I get 4 new locking nuts (anyone know a good supplier?) and have the existing ones replace? Or doesnt anyone have a better idea.... I'm trying to sell my Z and this is just the latest in a long saga of stuff that keeps happening to my car! Cheers
  3. Ok, thanks for your advice all. I think I will specify that they bring proof of 3rd party insurance. Then I will take them out myself for a bit of a hoon then maybe try to find somewhere quiet so they can have a crack without pushing it. I guess like you say, you can kind of tell the sort of person who is likely to actually buy or is just there as a test pilot. I will specify on the advert that proof of insurance will be required, hopefully that will put off the time wasters. I'd share the link but i'm not allowed to advertise it here as I dont have 50 posts!
  4. Whats the norm here? I am happy to take people out, but clearly most people won't be insured on the vehicle, just 3rd party. Would anyone here let someone take the wheel if they were just 3rd party? Your opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. for gods sake... http://failblog.org/2010/04/03/epic-fai ... g-fail-14/
  6. I went there as a child and got a hire bike. The brakes were a bit dodgy, so I swapped it for someone elses. Then proceeded to spend the week swapping bikes in the search for the ultimate centre parks bike. So if im anything to go by, lock it up and take off anything that isnt bolted on!
  7. yeah i got something similar, definitely doing this as soon as i get a chance.
  8. that sounds sensible, havent done it before will have a look for a guide.....
  9. have a look here, ive made an enquiry will post when i get a reply http://www.sgs-engineering.com/pages/regassing-service
  10. on the subject of the reverse light, it anyone elses as cr@p as mine?!?! I literally have to guess how much room i have when parking at night, damn on street parking!
  11. Hi All, I have managed to accrue a few battle scars which includes a nice crack on my nismo front bumper. I managed to roll into someone whilst I was getting something out of the boot. It only rolled 1m, but managed to crack it (see pic) and generally scuff the front . It is a genuine bumper so I hope it is fixable. Does anyone know of someone who might be able to fix it? Do you think it will need a completely respray? I also have a dink on the door and a few light scratches. I live in Brighton, but spend time in Leicester too. Happy to travel, the quality of the job is most important so let me know if anyone has had any good experiences. Thanks HMMMM - cant seem to add pics, do I need to have had a certain number of posts or something??!
  12. Had a p2 at a dealer in Leicester recently and asked them to investigate the knocking noise coming from the front of my car. They recon its a wheel bearing about to go, and quoted me £400. I took it to a mechanic friend of mine who seconded that diagnosis, and said that he could do it for cheaper. He said he would get hold of the parts, but called to say that his supplier would only sell them direct to a dealer!? Is this unusual? Should I get it done at the dealer for £400? Or can I get hold of the stuff myself? Anyone know a good supplier? Thanks
  13. hey I saw that earlier! In Leicester right? He cut me up!
  14. I have taken my car to a nissan dealership today for a p2 and to install my new HEL brake lines. They quoted about £250 for the service, and another £100 for the lines (I supplied the lines, oil and brake fluid) I supplied some decent oil, and dot4 fluid as I boiled the last lot on the track. Anway, I just got a call from them and they say that in order to replace the lines, they would need to COMPLETELY drain the brake fluid so it would take more time, and cost me more money. Am I missing something here, I though the service meant that they would do a complete drain and replace! Anyway, I told him not to worry about the lines, and just do the service using my dot4 fluid. Then the guy called me back and said that because it was a different type to the stuff i already have (OEM i presume) they would have to do a complete drain, and that this would cost me more! So - my real question is: if they do a service, should they already be doing a complete drain??! Are they just being lazy, or am I really expecting them to go above and beyond what is included in the p2. Thanks
