  1. Good luck however I fear the worse. Alex Me too. It's not all bad, I have really enjoyed the 3k miles i got from it so far . Do you know the price for a rebuild by any chance Alex? Going to ask the guy tomorrow but would like a rough estimate. Okay, let's be proactive Rebuilds are not usually cost effective and a low mileage engine form a known doner vehicle is the way forward What year and engine model is your car? 4. Had a listen to the vids and it sounds like it may be a rod about to let loose, however it could be a number of other things. Get a pro to have a listen and an informed diagnoses should be forthcoming within a few minutes, without stripping. Where are you based? Alex
  5. As what Ekona has said, except best to purchase all the parts required and take them along. Most garages will gladly carry out your sevice with you supplying all the correct parts. The two benefits of this route is that you will know that the correct parts have been fitted to your car, and secondly, it will be cheaper. Win Win I carry in stock all the correct parts for your servicing needs and they are good to go same next/day. Drop me a PM if I can help you further. Alex
  6. Washer bottles and all associated parts in stock and good to go same/next day if required. Hopefully it will just be a hose off or something similar. Alex

  9. If you think that the prices that your mate at the garage has quoted you are expensive then best not to look at my prices, however you get what you pay for as the saying goes. If you want cheap and cheerful then best just to buy from your mate, however if you want quality then have a look here. viewtopic.php?f=157&t=58518 Also other stuff including brake pad options can be found here. viewforum.php?f=157 Alex
  10. It is not just the 1st and 2nd class stamps that are going up in price, it is basically across the board for most of there services including parcels, so brace yourselves lads. Alex

  15. Sorry to hear of your loss mate. I have most parts in stock to fix this, however if you have little mechanical knowledge and are unable to rebuild yourself and you have to pay some one to do it for you then best bo bite the bullet, negotiate hard and start again. Not what you want to hear I know, but it is sound, informed advice. Alex

    Fuel Leak

I only put 40 quid in so haven't filled the car right up. Its literally just when i fuel the car. As soon as i drive off there is no fuel leak? Sounds like a leak on the filler pipe then. Fuel leaks are dangerous especially around the tank area which is very close to the rear exhaust box. I would get this looked at immediately by the guy that fitted all this for you as it is his and your responsibility. I also would not run the car until this issue is sorted. Alex
  17. Looking really good mate Bet you are well chuffed Alex

    oil

Rehan, best to run at top mark on the dip stick. If the oil light comes on, then I doubt if any oil will show on the dip stick.

    oil

Of course the oil pressure will keep dropping if you have no oil in the motor. If you run your car with low oil you will very soon require a new engine. Read my previous post and get your oil up to the MAX mark Alex
  20. Wheel bearing perhaps: viewtopic.php?f=157&t=28625 viewtopic.php?f=157&t=29441 In stock and good to go same/next day Give me a shout once you get a proper diagnoses. Alex

    oil

When the car is cold add enough oil to get the level on the MAX mark and then do an oil comsumption test over the next few hundred miles. If the oil light comes on then your level will be dangerously low with perhaps only a litre or 2 left in the sump. The capacity is 5 litres and fully synth 5W30 is the preferred viscosity. You will only be able to get a true dipstick reading from cold, preferably after sitting 8 hours. The exhaust smoke emission concerns me. Good luck Alex
