if your guys know what they are doing and they can not find any thing wrong then it will be the ball joint in the compression rod. These can show no signs of movement but still knock. You will require the proper Nissan Auto S Matic fluid for this auto transmission. You will also require around 10 litres for a full fluid change if you include the torque converter. I believe that Nissan state that this fluid is a fluid for life and does not require changing. This fluid is expensive, however I have it in stock at the moment if required and good to go same/next day. Just drop me a PM if I can help you further. Alex.

Forgot to say that the Neutral Position Switch is located on the right side of the transmission. It is above and just forward of the transmission mount. There is also a switch on the left side that is for the reverse lamps. Make sure they are both plugged in. I am assuming that your reversing light is not working. Alex.

P1706 relates to the park-neutral position SW/CIRCUIT. Alex
