  1. Not a practice that I follow, however I have sold a lot of the rubber rear bump stop seats for that very same purpose. Drop me a PM if you require a pair. Alex.
  2. yeah checked them just before. All have good continuity too all 6 Crank Position Sensor then ?
  3. As per my post #3, did you check the pins on the ECU connection to the loom ?
  4. The obvious is that the law enforcement officers either don't know or don't care.
  5. What do you mean by belt being smaller ? Are you referring to length or the width ? Standard sizes are 948 for the Air Con and 1173 for the Alternator. The 948 is 4 rib and the 1173 is 6 rib. Your options are to fit a different size belt or swop over the pulleys. Normally when you are changing an alternator, you would fit new belts. Your questions 2,3 and 4 are irrelevant.

  7. Impact wrench will not loosen this bolt I am afraid. Good 600mm breaker bar with impact socket will do the trick. If you are concerned about breaking a tooth then use the wedge of hardwood technique which works well, because the more that you turn the fly with the breaker bar, the more the wedge becomes lodged.
  8. Borrow Trade Plates to cover the road tax for the day. MOT ?
  9. There is a Nissan locking kit which works well, however I assume that you will not have this as most the Nissan garages do not have it either. You can fabricate your own or lock the fly with a suitable tyre lever or a wedge shape piece of hardwood. The locking can all be carried out by removing the R/H inspection plate on the bell housing opposite side from the starter motor, or remove the starter motor. Very simple and even easier if a 2 man operation as the bolt is tight, however any of the above methods will work.
  10. John, Do you mean crankshaft pulley bolt ? If so just lock the fly to stop the crank from turning. 600mm decent brand breaker bar and an impact socket will complete the job. However it is a 2 man operation. Alex.
  11. The track to my place yesterday.
  12. If you have no spark, then without getting to technical I would just retrace my steps, checking all loom connections, especially at the ECU. I would also be looking a bit closer at the Crank Position Sensor and connector and whilst there check out the Cam Postion Sensors connections as well. Also check all common and related fuses to Ignition + the fuse links at the battery. Finally just thinking standing on my feet, I would also be having a look at the JDM immobiliser. Good luck.
  13. This ^^^^ Or rock up to Nissan dealership on Monday and they should have a master set to remove your lock nuts and then just order up a new locking nut socket. All the above providing that it is a genuine Nissan set that is fitted.
  14. So should Nissan or Infiniti. But totally agree that a good Indy would be best, however the OP in his first post preferred a Nissan dealership.
  15. Guys, referring to the forums and posts from over the pond may be completely different from what is required or available the UK and is a bit pointless in this instance. For example: The USA have 3 times as many recalls and NTB than we have in the UK which can be quite misleading to the uninformed. So you got to remember that this is the UK and not USA. There are no rules, and there is no what is right or what is wrong, with the fluid change intervals for the ATM so it is down to each individual how often the fluids should be changed.
  16. Crazy price, shop around Nissan main dealers and negotiate using price match. Also best to supply your own oil and filter and slip them £50.00 for the labour and the stamp.
  17. Yes, I have Nissan documentation regarding fluid for life in the UK. I would guess that higher temperatures in the US may be a factor in there preference to change ATM fluids every 50,000 miles as it is the same fluid in UK - USA.
  18. The 370 has the Nissan Matic S (J) Part Number 999MP MTS00P which is not a fluid for life.
  19. The J Matic fluid is a fluid for life. However if you prefer to change, then the old J Matic Fluid ( Nissan Matic J: Part Number KE908 99932 has been superseded by Nissan Matic S (J) Part Number 999MP MTS00P which is readily available from Nissan dealerships. On the rare occasion that they are out of stock, they will bring in from Amsterdam or worst case, Japan. Also when swopping out the fluid, you will have to decide if you are carrying out a full change or a partial change, as the full change means emptying the torque converter and the oil cooling pipes and rad. etc. Expect the fluids to cost North of £200.00 After market fluids are available but I personally would stick with oem. To summarise: An unnecessary expense IMHO as it is a fluid for life on UK cars, however I have answered your original question.
