Why would he bother?
Money is now irrelevant to him, he has more than enough and any team in the top 6 would be able to satisfy a basic package as long as he kept his own image rights. He wants titles, and there's only three teams capable of delivering that to him. He can't go to Ferrari because Alcocko won't let him, and Red Bull don't have a space next year. He will be with McLaren next year 100%, even if he only signs a 1 year deal with an option of a further year, depending on whether Vettel moves to Ferrari in 2014 as we all suspect he will.
I have absolutely no doubt that Mercedes have been speaking to Lewis' management team and given them a package to offer to him, but then I'd be amazed if Lotus and Red Bull hadn't done exactly the same. You make the offers on the off-chance you can get a top driver, and if they say yes then you work out if you actually want them or not. It's common sense.
Eddie Jordan is entertaining and still chatty with the big guns, but ultimately this is a complete non-story and a load of utter rubbish.
