The more I use my 5, the more I like it. I really wasn't keen on the extra length at first (fnarr), but then again I hated the shape of the 4 after using the 3GS for so long and yet it did eventually grow on me. The fact they've kept the girth the same (fnarr!) does help, although I'm still waiting for the first batch of apps to actually make use of the extra real estate.

DMS get a lot of good press, but none from enthusiasts. They have a good, solid brand, but some of their claims are either silly or their maps don't leave you with a safe margin. All second-hand evidence, but I wouldn't spend my money there.

I wouldn't get hung up on the charging issue unless you plan to keep your phone for 5+ years. Since smartphones came out, I charge mine every night or if it needs a top-up, then it gets one. It goes straight into the PCM3 system in the 911 as soon as I get in it, and if I've mullered it at work then it gets topped up in the truck on the way home. If it needs power then it gets it, no point letting it die or not using it just so I can connect it to the mains when I get in.
