  1. Just run mine through, about what I expected from the usual suspects. £650, but £1000 if you pay by instalments. Utterly insane, who on earth would pay by that??!! You'd chuck it on a credit card and pay it off over a couple of months if you couldn't do it in one go, it would still work out much cheaper.
  2. I'd rather pay more for my fuel if it meant less people on the roads. Doesn't work like that over here, sadly.
  3. The OS. That's Apple's strength. Android is flaky at best, and you never know if anything is actually going to run on it as there's so many damn versions out there now (admittedly iOS is headed in the same direction, but nowhere near as fragmented). All Android screens that I've ever tried, S3 included, have the most irritating lag on the touchscreen that the Apple devices simply don't have. The phone is massive and the screen simply too big for most people, and I find it a shame that Apple have felt the need to pander to the many by increasing the size of the iPhone screen: It's unnecessary. The 4S camera is miles better than the 4 and more than a match for anything out there maybe 920 excluded, and if you can find somewhere in the world that doesn't have an Apple 30-pin plug nearby then I'd suggest you've got bigger issues. I've not needed a replacement battery for any phone ever, so why would I want to carry around a spare one? I don't need a billion songs on my phone so 32GB is enough for me, but if it wasn't I'd buy the 64GB version. You're making it sound like the choice isn't there, when it is. It's just designed as a one item device, rather than something you carry around a load of different bits for. I haven't been sucked in by anything, I know the weakness of the iPhone for some people. I also understand the goal behind it, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate or disparage other devices as I see fit. If an Android phone had the screen of the iPhone, I'd seriously consider one. Until such a day comes, I can't see why I'd want to swap the most important feature of a smartphone, the actual interface, for being able to say I can put an SD card in or swap a battery over. Each to their own.
  4. Comparing hardware is irrelevant. It always has been between Apple & anything else, because Apple stuff relies on the OS instead. They do have much more reactive screens, but for everything else they do seem be not be quite as good. None of which matters, because if you buy an iPhone you don't really care if it has NFC or the greatest lens in the world, you buy it because of the complete package. It's not a tool to use as a p*ssing contest with your mates as to who has more RAM. Look at Infinity Blade 2 on the 4S and then tell me the iPhone needs more oomph. It doesn't.
  5. Bingo. Waste of time while the economy is down the pan. The UK coffers need funds, and this is a guaranteed pot-filler. The time to complain is when we're not in a global recession and the tax stays high.
  6. Pretty much the same now applies for Android fans though. They'll slaughter anything that has an OS that's user friendly and hardware that's machined perfectly to the nth degree. Truth is both (well, all three is you count Win8) platforms have their pros and cons. Apple is easier to use, more stable and lag-free, but Android offers far more in terms of options and updates, and has more freedom. Horses for courses.
  7. Missed that, ta. He did say that it was like that straight after fitting though and it hasn't changed since, so not impossible that they might've been dosed with a lot, albeit unlikely granted.
  8. Fair play for being honest Sounds very much like you're still running off the release agent on the tyres, it should get significantly better over time. Give it 500 miles and if it's still not sorted then you've got a different problem. Give serious consideration to running FK452 at the front as well, it will make a massive amount of difference. Right now in the dry you'll oversteer, and in the wet you'll understeer. Probably the better way round to do it, but still...
  9. List of possible issues: 1. Mixed tyres. You have different grip levels front to back, so it makes progressive driving awkward. You had this before, but you've changed brands again so you're still treading the unknown. What Bridgestone did you have on there before, RE040 or RE050? Massive differences between the two. 2. Tyre pressures. Check them. 3. Tyre sizes. As people have said above, check them. 4. Road conditions. Does this happen in the wet, the dry, or both? Every time round the same corner? You may find you're being a bit heavy footed and not adjusting to the road conditions as we swing from summer to winter.

  11. Very sad. If only Senna had listened to him after Ratzenberger died...
  12. New adaptor will see serious money coming their way, much in the same way Sony always produce their own funny formats. In fairness, their old 30-pin adaptor is over 9 years old so it was due an update, and whilst it would've been nice if they'd gone for micro USB it's not a deal breaker for me. You can buy an adaptor for micro USB if you really want to, I may even pick one up myself. No-one needs 700k apps, but it's nice to have the choice. Is stuff like the S3 et al any cheaper than the iPhone anymore? Genuine question, I have no idea. iPhone 5 is £529 with no contract and 16GB.
  13. To be honest, it's a bit pony. No NFC, no better camera, no amazing iOS functions. It's not the trend setter it once was. That said, it's still the best phone on the market for me, so I'll be queuing next Friday.

  16. That is genius, what a top idea.
  17. In the Ibiza? Surely better on the paintwork than the dash I hope he used it on the interior, it would make a right mess if you used it outside!
  18. Just what's left after I rub it into my chest hair
  19. I use it too, lovely stuff. Smells pretty good too
  20. The FFRR isn't lighter than a 3-series or a Mini Countryman: The monocoque chassis of the FFRR is lighter than a fully built 3-series or Mini Fatman. It's still a massive car, it just weighs a lot less than it used to.
  21. That's a very good point actually, when those new engines come in it's basically going to be like a massive reset on reliability. We'll have pretty much no idea who will have the decent engines, and same again with regards to pace. Going to be a tough season to call, even more so than now.
  22. What is this based on? The pre-contract that Vettel and Ferrari have signed, albeit with performance-based clauses in it which it looks like both will be hitting this year at least. Good race to watch yesterday, shame about Button and the RBs but that Sauber was immense today.
