  1. Not actually using it yet, they did offer to migrate my data for me in the O2 store (where I got it from) but I'd rather do that in my own time at home tonight. So I have no idea about iTunes server overloading (shouldn't though, never had an issue before) or migrating all my data as I'll restore it as a backup from my 4S.
  2. Got mine at 8:13am 'Tis nice. Seems lighter than the 4S by some margin, and the black/blue rear cover is lush
  3. Or PC Specialist. Get an i5, then as much RAM and as good a gfx card as you can afford. That'll do you for now.
  4. My missus is scholarly clever, but real world dumb. She can pass a degree with ease, but she has no idea what currency they use in the USA. Despite having been there twice.
  5. Great shout Octet, all done
  6. I don't use the Maps that much, but when I do I use them more for the actual sat view (so you can see where specific roads and buildings are) rather than as a direction tool (which I have the TT app for). It's frustrating, but as a whole I would say that the update is worth getting.
  7. Just to my 4S for now, by the time I tried putting it on the iPad2 last night the servers were being hammered. I still think the maps are sh*t, but as an overall improvement to the OS it's not bad. I think the use of Siri will become more important as I start understanding what it can actually do now, rather than just use it to set alarms.
  8. Heaven forbid someone should make an effort to try and be polite whilst still trying to help a member who has a somewhat 'distinct' posting style. FWIW I'm with Beavis, I can't understand half of what 4RE says these days. Not sure I'm missing much really, but then he probably thinks the same about me.
  9. At least it's not in Resale Grey or Raincloud Silver.
  10. Nope, you need to pay far more attention to them. It's now the Registered Keeper who is ultimately liable for the fines if they can't/won't name the driver, much like the S172 forms for speeding. Up until now it used to be that only the driver was liable for the parking charge, but the law is changing so that the companies can go directly after the RK.
  11. Safari is much, much quicker. And Siri is actually helpful now, unlike how it used to be. Panoramic photos are epic, too! Question: Why has it evolved into Apple vs Android, when really the Android folks should be arguing over which handset is better comparing the One X, S3 etc? Surely that's a fairer comparison, and far easier to do subjectively?
  12. Speed signage law must be obeyed. If it's missing (especially on a country lane where there would be no street lighting to enforce a 30) then you have a defence, and I'd have gone through the courts for that. Cameras don't have to be visible. Speed signs do. If you obey the speed signs then you'll never get prosecuted. I still cannot for the life of me fathom why people bother to speed in 30, 40 or 50 zones, or on the motorway network. It's not fun, and that's where they're looking to get you.
  13. No more scrunching up the letters and filing them in the bin
  14. Those thumping great 30 signs with the red borders tend to be a giveaway, too
  15. Never been a problem before on launch day.
  16. No chance. That reason would never be accepted by any court, not sure who told you that whopper. If you were doing the speed, then you have no defence. Edit: Unless directed by a copper, under duress or as an emergency service on a blue light call.
  17. Streetview I can live without, but no sat view is retarded. There was talk about Google doing a map app, and I really hope they do.
  18. The new Maps app is ****ing useless. The satellite view has no zoom on it at all, and there's loads of places covered by cloud. Yes, having navigation is handy, but no satellite view just cripples it.
  19. Love the picture of him in the helmet!
  20. If you accept iTunes for what it is, it's a very decent bit of software. If you constantly try and fight it then you'll never get on with it. Let it do what it wants and it's very good.
  21. You have got to be kidding me. 1. iCloud went down for a poxy 10 hours and Apple have apologised and said that the outage was unnaceptable, NOT the service. 2. So a manufacturer deliberately withholds stock to make it seem more desirable. Companies have been doing that for years: Ferrari are the best at it, but electronics companies aren't shy of using the same trick. 3. Something that isn't released may or may not work 100% correctly when it's released. Or it might, no-one knows yet. Christ, I could give you a list of 10 things to knock Apple for if you want very easily, so why pick on complete non-stories like those? This is exactly why no-one takes fanboys seriously, of either the Apple OR Android variety.
  22. A phone could have a 5" screen, built in 128GB of space & expansion, 24MP camera, battery that lasts for 4 weeks and a processor that can calculate Pi to 1M places in 0.4 secs, and yet none of that would remotely factor into my purchasing decision.
  23. Completely agree. Sh*t can happen in any car, so you'll never be able to eradicate the oil/diesel/ice mishaps that can effect all of us. Your best tool is your right foot and a dose of common sense.
  24. Ah, anti-Apple fanboy ads. The cutting edge of humour.
