I'd have thought a rev3 tubby would've been a better bet? Or even keep the old one and add to it if it's a track car. Still, as long as he's happy that's the main thing.
Depends. On a car with full service history and that might be worth a bit more (like a last of line, low mileage HR) then I'd probably just throw £150 at a service and be done with it. On an older DE car then I'd just do an oil change myself, stamp the book myself and make sure I kept the receipts.
Good lord they're cheap! No idea on quality, but price alone would put me off. Find out if they're E-marked, if so then I'd try them, else I'd look for a better brand. Try TRS if you're on a budget, I use them in the MX-5.
Follow the belts back from the bits you've circled until you get to the first adjuster. That's the bit you unwrap to remove the eyelet part and wrap around the harness instead. Trust me, it makes perfect sense when they're in your hands.
You unwrap the end bit, so buy whichever one you want Bear in mind that if you're planning to remove the stock belts too, then you'll need an E-marked harness for MOT purposes. Both of the ones above will be fine, but if it was me I'd leave the stock belts in and get a decent 4 point harness in there instead.
4.5L including filter, did mine two weeks ago so I know that's right
Definitely change it all and keep a very close eye on it, these engines don't tend to burn a lot of oil unless there's an issue. Much blue smoke on start up?
We run ours on 5w-40, generally accepted across the world as the best grade to use on the 2L turbo engines. I use Silkolene Pro S in ours, 'tis good stuff.
PS2s are dead now, you need the MPSS.
VUS offer lower grip in all conditions, however feel from them is incredible. I quite like them, but in terms of ultimate grip they're definitely lacking,
Yup, but it's open to interpretation. I can unbolt my seat and move it into two or three different positions if I want, but none of them are as comfy as the one it stays in
It's to stop seats that are mounted dangerously really, it's just poorly worded.
