    Track day brakes

    Ah, Scotland isn't that bad

    Pleasant Surprise.

Agreed, same reason I'm with Sky on the 911. We'd have the Impreza with them too but they don't cover under 25s on the specialist stuff, so will have to wait until after May when the wife finally hits 25
  4. I've more chance of meeting Santa, the Tooth Fairy and Elvis in my local! Tempted to just spend the money on a leather re-trim really, and just replace the centre console area rather than do the whole thing. Or I buy a later car and get it painted yellow.

Interesting, that's a similar premium to what we paid to install a harness bar and harness in the Impreza, also insured with Admiral. I too expected a massive wedge, or at least three figures, but it wa only £17. A shift in policy from them, perhaps?
  6. Excellent news, cheers Colin Food for thought then. I guess I need to see how much a post facelift interior is then, really.
  7. So if I had a GT4, and managed to get hold of the interior (dash, doorcards and centre console all the way back to the armrest), could I in theory replace one with the other? I know the wiring will need a bit of altering on the centre console due to where the hazard switch is located on the facelift, but aside from that is there any other problems? Brackets, physical size, control units etc? Ooh, doesn't the DE not have the 12v socket that the Revup and HR have in the pax footwell near their right knee?
  8. Not wrong, it's okay but for my money there's better stuff out there for that money. Much better than Magnatec though!
  9. As a top-up, it'll do. I wouldn't use it for an oil change though, there's much better stuff out there.
  10. I was just being awkward, I'm good at that this evening
  11. You can only measure my oil when it's hot and the engine is running Trust me, it's not as good as it sounds. In fact, sometimes it's a right faff and I long to have a dipstick like the Zed's again.
  12. Ah, then that's a fair point Should still be fine for a while after though. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/brake-fluid/endless-rf-650-brake-fluid-2 ...and that's for just 500ml
  13. 'Tis a good point. Do you want to win at track days, or do you want to have immense amounts of fun? Genuine question, no right or wrong answer. I used to be all about the speed, but now I'd rather just play and try and work with what I have than worry about overtaking everyone.
  14. Why, out of curiosity? The Ring is very light on brakes so you won't go anywhere near boiling it, and as Sam says it'll last you well past that. 'Tis good stuff, I've used it on previous cars. The Endless stuff is my personal fave, but don't go looking up the price of that...
  15. I didn't say it wasn't factual. I said the data wasn't comparable. Different drivers, different days, different weather, different setups, etc.
  16. Ah yes, there. Completely useless in terms of comparing stuff, but great for pub banter.
  17. Probably cheaper to fly to Oz and watch F1 there than go to Silverstone! Supposed to be great, a much wider support programme too.
  18. Please not camo, that's horrendous! Any reason why not yellow?
  19. Why would you want 17s? Aside from looks, there's no benefit that I can see from putting bigger, heavier wheels on a track slag.
  20. They really are massive cars, and tbh I think the size puts me off a fair bit more than anything. Even the 350Z can feel a bit big on the roads sometimes.
