  1. Ah, another MPG thread, just what the forum needs. We haven't had one of these in, ooh, at least 4 days. See, this is why Will thinks it's a long way from London to Abbey, he only ever does trips that last about six miles and never gets out of second gear.
  2. 328 should be a great car, is it fully sorted already or is it going to be a project?
  3. FYI I don't want to die doing this
  4. Goddammit the light in my microwave is broken now and you can't see a damn thing, so there's no point in videoing the wax melting FFS
  5. By buying a car you don't really want? Oooookaaaay... If you want a BMW, then that's fine, nowt wrong with them. If you want to try and free some cash up by downgrading, again that's fine and I see the point. That doesn't look like what you're trying to do though: More just buying a new car for the sake of it. Again, I've done that myself so I see the point there, but you're trying to say that you can do everything and somehow magically come away with a wonderful car that sends Sarnie to sleep and a billionty quid in the bank. I just can't see it myself. As always, and as others have said rather than the 'Go for it!' I think you've read it as, if you're happy then that's all that matters.
  6. You won't get an Elise for £7K, nor a straight VX. Well, ignoring the single one on PH that seems a bit too good to be true, check vx220.org and if it's okay then that would be a great shout
  7. Who cares if the deal is good, if it's not the car you actually want then you're still throwing money away. Trading a car in and getting cash back from a dealer always leaves you with a worse trade than if you bought outright or traded a cheaper car in, no dealer wants to give up their cask reserves. You're trying to justify this to yourself, no-one on here thinks this is a good idea but you're going to do it anyway, so as long as you're happy then who cares what we think?
  8. If you want a barge for the daily grind, then a 325 is fine. If you want something fun that excites, then you need to look elsewhere.
  9. Ooh, let me know how the Meister Rs are, I'm considering a set for mine this summer 1.6 or 1.8? Get those seats out, some buckets in and sort yourself a harness bar & harnesses, transformed mine
  10. Need to be logged in, you'd have thought someone who ran the board would know that ;)
  11. You won't get an E46 M3 for £7K (not a reliable one anyway), and stats mean nothing. As good as the M3 E46 is to drive, it's not as good as a Boxster.
  12. Not at all, very rewarding to drive as well if you like MR stuff. If you want batsh*t mental then a turbo nutter barge is the way forward. I don't know if AWD is dull on track, am doing Spa on the 23rd in the Impreza so I'll let you know after that.
  13. Do that many people use AG SRP then? I hate the stuff, and have never seriously considered using it long term.
  14. I wouldn't use any TVR as a regular track car. They're second only to Nobles at being parked up in the pits after the first session! Given you'd have to quieten down the TVR as well for track days, it would seem a bit pointless. E36 M3 would be a goer at that price, or an S2K. You're getting close to Caterham money there too. RX-8 is a great chassis to play with, or if you want turbo nutter barge fun there's Imprezas and Evos galore for £7K. Early Boxster too would probably be the pick of the bunch.
  15. Actually, that looks alright to me. Maybe a bit deeper in colour?
  16. MICROWAVE IS HAPPENING BIZNATCH
  17. I personally wouldn't bother. If you apply the polish correctly it'll break down enough that a quick wipe with an MF will remove it all, then you can go straight to the wax stage. Each to their own though, I can see the reason for using it but I just see it as a stage that will add very little if you've done a proper job in the first place.
  18. So, do I listen to the manufacturer or some randoms from the interweb? Randoms it is! I'll do it this weekend and post the video up. YOLO etc.
  19. Tight? Moi??!! Do I look frickin' Scottish to you lot! Tbh I've never got this low on a pot before, I've still got half a pot of DJ Blue Velvet and Swissvax Zuffenhousen sitting around, but this is only a lickle pot of the DJSN. I reckon I've another two applications at least in there if I scrape it!
  20. Boo, that doesn't sound like fun at all Come on, no-one going to tell me that microwaving is a great idea?!
  21. And no, I don't just mean run out and you need to buy a new pot I've a small pot of Supernatural that I've had for a while now and it's done a good few applications, but it's now getting to the point where a quick dap of the pad isn't getting any product as it's all round the edges of the pot. Is there an easy way to solve this? My initial thought was to chuck it in the microwave for a few mins to melt it, and then let it reset at the bottom of the pot. Is that genius, or an incredibly stupid idea? I'm sure it's one or the other! Or do I just scrape it out with a knife and put it into a different container?
  22. I would only polish when necessary, so for example on my own car once I'd done the correction as best possible with the DAS6 I then put the coat of wax on. From then on all I've needed to do is to wash and reapply the wax if it needed a top up. In a more straightforward answer to your question though, yes you'd prep the same and just substitute sealant for wax.
