  1. *discs Disks are square, discs are round Try the EBC discs, not as bad as they used to be and cheap too.
  2. Don't be an idiot. Get a four seat car and do it properly. :thumbs
  3. It's unlikely the system is empty, probably just the expansion tank is empty though. Ideally fill with Nissan green coolant, if not then deionised water will be fine as long as system isn't empty (i.e. if it takes more than a couple of litres!). 99% it will be the fans, not a huge problem
  4. He's very likeable, and doesn't have a bad bone in his body. I really hope he gets a WDC in his career, he's got exactly the right attitude IMHO.
  5. That's quite reasonable at this rate actually, given the amount of time they've already invested.
  6. Shape and weight of gearknob is very important too. I prefer to cup the knob rather than grasp it, so prefer dumpy round ones to tall shaft ones. The knob is also one of the few places on the car where more weight is preferable, to give a more positive action when shifting. Yeah yeah, I know everyone just picks the pretty ones, but it's worth considering the size and shape too else you could ruin that connectivity between man and car. Also, I must get some kind of award for amount of double entendres in a single post for that first paragraph.
  7. Gigolo or entrepreneur? One or the other or a combination of both. Definitely not the gigolo
  8. F*cking hell. Immense drives from the top three, none of them would've predicted that result. Nico is a whinging little girl.
  9. And again, ah yes, I think you're right! Okay, sense is made now. As you were, people.
  10. Completely agree with Ricey. Paint correction isn't easy, and it's not cheap. Neither should it be, it's removing some of the actual paint (well, clear coat) from the car so you need some expertise in what you are doing. A good single-day detail is enough for most people. For the rest of us, there's much further down the rabbit hole to go.
  11. Ah, you could be right. My bad. Even so, that clearly needs wide arches, no? Just to make it look finished.
  12. Okay, I'll bite. That's not finished yet, is it? I mean, the rim is outside of the arch. Is that not an MOT fail?
  13. You could do both happily. Sealant to seal the paint, then a wax to give the shine. I usually only do one or other though due to the law of diminishing returns, and I prefer the finish of a good wax over the length of protection of a good sealant. Personally I would use some DJSN on your car, but out of the ones you mention the Red would be my choice. Easier to work with, and a good finish.
  14. It really does, doesn't it?! It's bizarre really, the suspension is much stiffer all round on the newer models, however they still feel the need to give it a huge arch gap. Does make cleaning easier though!
  15. Highly unlikely, though. I think people are expecting miracles from the partnership given previous successes, but even if it's a good engine the McLaren aero isn't good enough to make the most of it. Look at the other Merc-powered cars, they're not even in the same league as the factory cars. Yes, Merc would still have the advantage of developing around that engine rather than shoving it in like the others, but even so. I would not expect McLaren Honda to be competitive for at least two seasons. After that, who knows?
  16. FFS Lewis! What is he supposed to do to get any luck this year?
  17. Have you spoken to your solicitor about this yet matey?
  18. Higher PSI at the front will give you understeer, so the front washes out before the rear turns in. WIll also have a massive amount to do with your alignment though as well, probably more so than the tyre pressures. I tend to agree with Alex though, you're not going to notice 1 PSI difference on one tyre so this is pretty much all in your head
  19. Never going to happen. McLaren are showing zero signs of progressing this season, so why would any of the big guns move there? Ferrari have a decent car apart from the engine, RB even more so and clearly Merc are significantly ahead.I've no doubt McLaren want all three of those drivers, but I can't see them moving. Unless they're shown the new Honda engine that's better than the Merc lump, of course...
  20. And that includes the subframe, bargain!
  21. I think that's being a bit obtuse on the subject really, however if you know the risks and are prepared to accept that then that's fair enough. There's the possibility of being faulty after having had thousands on pounds spent on R&D, tooling, manufacturing, QC etc and then there's the possibility of being faulty simply because they were made on the cheap.
  22. If I can get full evidence of why it was a Cat D, who repaired it and what they did, I would buy one. If not, I'm moving on.
  23. That's correct, they were asked to not sell them on here for safety issues. FWIW I agreed with the decision then, and I think it's still a very valid point. In an impact, you really do not want things like that snapping and either moving you around the cabin or penetrating you (fnar) with sharp pieces of plastic and metal. Personally, I would not be fitting fakes to my car unless they'd undergone some testing.
