  1. I should imagine that's quite a peaceful moment, once you get past all the hysterical screaming.
  2. Don't worry, I know of someone else who got black flagged for hooning, eh Doc...
  3. I'm really looking forward to seeing your new toy on track, will be very interesting to see how the two cars compare. I'll have to chuck you the keys to mine and see how you get on with it. I'll be on 888s, so if the weather is dry (if!) taht'll make more difference than anything. It's almost like cheating really
  4. And that's me being kind
  5. Can't comment on the drive, but they're not exactly pretty.
  6. You'll leave me for dead on the back straight without breaking sweat, but I would be disappointed if I wasn't quicker than you through the corners and definitely under braking. Assuming I get the brakes fixed of course, else I'll be taking the 911 instead. No comment on driver talent or lack thereof meant, purely on a physics thing What MR2 has Phil got again?
  7. Zackerly. And that's precisely why I'd have a Liquid Yellow phase2 Clio V6 with the Recaros in my dream garage.
  8. I know it'd never happen, and I know it probably wouldn't actually be that good to drive, but I think it would be an occasion and for me, that's good enough.
  9. I just wish they'd do a new Clio V6. I like the style of the new one, and with the 3.7L V6 from the 370Z in there mounted midships that would be superb. Completely impractical, but superb.
  10. Never mind the cyclists, if one more f*cking ***** of a motorcyclist decides to try and undertake me when I'm just about to move back to the LH lane on a DC after overtaking a slower vehicle, I'm just going to carry on going and take the idiot out. Yes motorcyclists, we get that you're allowed to filter in traffic. Why you think that suddenly means you can whip past us at 80mph+ on the inside is beyond me.
  11. Nope, different. A16LER in the VX, and I think it's a version of the PSA Prince lump in the Mini.
  12. They've stated now that those figures are only lab test ones, and that they shouldn't be taken at face value but instead used to compare between cars. For example, you have a 320d that states 60mpg and an S1 that states 50mpg, neither will get anywhere near that but there will be 10mpg between them. So in the real world the 320d gets 40mpg, the S1 gets 30mpg.
  13. It's a bigger car than you think, that's for sure. It's also bloody expensive, I think.
  14. FWD 0-60 is limited by grip, so there will never be great improvements in that. In gear shove in the S1 will be hysterical though, and all wrapped up in a nice interior. Great little fun hatch, if not quite enough balls to the wall for my taste.
  15. NECROPOST IS NECRO
  16. Joe Biden has said outright that he believes it was "blown out of the sky". That's not a comment a man in his position would make lightly without proof. I suspect there's been some frantic calls behind the scenes between Washington and Moscow in the last few hours.
  17. Truth is, the issues concerned may not matter a jot to you, but they sure as hell should matter to the person taking it as a part ex. As it stands, it's neither a well-finished modified Cat D, nor a straight car but with some minor things needing doing. The part ex value should reflect that.
  18. Changed the front two calipers this evening to try and solve my brake feel issue. It's a 20 min job, until you finish packing up and wonder why you've got a spare washer for the brake line floating in the tray you've been catching fluid in... Wheel off again! Not had a chance to test it yet, but am going to be changing the rears at the weekend too. No harm in that, it's a 90k miles car after all and probably due a refresh.
  19. Good spot Neil, I hadn't noticed the lights. The more I think about this, the more I think I was being optimistic. Grundy's 4-5 looks to be on the money. Well, unless you get someone particularly gullible who doesn't ask about the Cat D and the lights and the wheels and doesn't mind the two-tone look
  20. It could, if they were aiming at a different plane
  21. £5K - £6K. Wheels are gash, mixed colours on the bodywork, on top of the Cat D status: It's not going to be a good figure. The Rays would look fine on that, you've not got wider arches or anything.
  22. No chance, I've seen how tight the engine bay on a 300 is with the normal V6TT in it! I can only imagine the fun and games that must be involved in that swap. And the knuckles lost in the process.
  23. Perhaps, but the Ukraine is a huge area and they only have so many satellites in the sky. I would suggest that if they did catch it, it would have been more by luck than judgement. If I was the leader of either pro-Russian or pro-Ukraine forces, I think I'd be 'accidentally' broadcasting to my troops over open airwaves that I saw the other side shoot down a plane. Just sayin'.
  24. It was bloody good, yes
  25. If it was shot down at all. If it was, we'll never know who did it.
