    MPSS and snow

Well then that's why they've lasted three years ya ninny!
  2. This really is very impressive stuff, y'know. Good on you mate, really enjoying this

On my third year with my Nankang SV-2's Running all year round? How many miles a year?

No, because you're using a smaller contact patch to put more downwards pressure to cut through the snow to get to the road underneath You're going to have massively reduced grip in the snow regardless, this is just the best way to make best of the situation.

They do, which is why they wear out so quickly when it warms up a tad.
  6. Depends on your definition of better, but each to their own as always
  7. Well yeah, you and me both. The 645 asks for anything between 95 and 98, but why would I not give a performance car the best?
  8. No, you're right Paddy, but a lot of people haven't read the question.
  9. You don't, clearly, so no.

Yup, as Colin says either pump the pressures up to about 40 (remembering to drop them when out of snow!), or if you're on snow a lot then proper winter tyres will be far superior.
  11. You can use 95RON safely in a 370. However, you'll lose a chunk of power and also lose MPG. Just use premium (97RON or higher) else you're wasting the car really.
  12. Nah, doesn't really feel like it needs one really. The long wheelbase helps of course, but I doubt I'll be throwing it around too much as I've the MR2 for that. I very much doubt I'll change the wheels, even though they're fugly
  13. That won't help when you come to sell it on with no service history... It could be worth a punt, but only if it is dirt cheap and treated as disposable. £1200 would work for me, but that's not going to work for the seller I suspect.
  14. I'm very tempted to paint the inside of mine either piano black or something more interesting, I'm not really sure what though. Definitely a Marmite car, and definitely the worst colour in the history of the world. Part of me would like to go mental and chuck neon orange wheels on it or even better throw some motorsport decals at it, but aside from the M colour scheme (which would be a huge no-no on an non-M car!), I don't really think there's much else out there. Although BM's pic looks like it could be fun in the real world
  15. I might put a BGW on it, just for sh*ts and giggles.
  16. We can be 6er brothers! I'll get some pics tomorrow, but I think they're very similar. Yours will have the posh seats and the bigger screen for the iDrive, and probably some carbon too I think?
  17. I wouldn't buy a car with zero service history. I wouldn't expect a car that age to have a full history, but something would be nice!
  18. Not really, these engines don't respond hugely well to much tuning short of a supercharger kit (£7K, and yes I've already looked!). With breathing mods and a remap you might get an extra 40bhp, but that's about your lot. I think I'll do exhaust for some noise, springs for some stiffness, Dension for some iPod, and then maybe ARBs as well. It has the comfort seats in, so I may swap them for the sport seats (adds lumbar control) if I can find a set at the right price. Really the modding budget is going on the MR2 though, I want to try and keep this vaguely normal.
  19. Like a budgie? Only about 50kg heavier than my old Zed scarily, so very similar performance. But yeah, it was cheap. As in less than £7k... Definitely needs a good scrub though after today!
  20. I was tempted by a soft top version, but the weight penalty and added complexity of stuff to go wrong put me off a tad. And yeah, it does pull very nicely
