It's not just the performance: These tyres are outlasting everything else by a huge margin, so they may cost 20% more but last 50% longer. They actually work out as the cheapest to own, long term.
  2. Gouged, not gauged. Took me a while to realise what you meant! You've accepted the car, so if the damage was there when you picked it up you either should've rejected the car until sorted, or haggled it into the cost originally. Who's to say the damage wasn't done during your ownership? Devils advocate, of course. The buckled wheel I would say is down to them, as like you say it's clear you've not knocked them, but really I think you have to be sucking the tyres up yourself. Unless you play very nicely and see if they'll do it for you, but I'm not sure I would if I were them.
  3. If you're not connected to mains water (which you should've noticed after the survey), then how else are you going to get water? If it's not a large sum, then suck it up. If it is, walk away. Does the service charge cover all maintenance too? As in, if the thing breaks down completely you're not responsible for rebuild costs as well. I'm assuming it's out in the sticks a bit? Seems odd to have a new house not connected to the mains.
  4. I kept checking to see if he'd ever been back, but he never has. Shame.
  5. Pfft, I'd just buy the cheapest and keep a slush fund just in case. It's only what you should do with any car, the 350 is no exception. I really wouldn't worry about the whole fuel thing. There is nothing you can do about it, so just get a car that okay everywhere else.
  6. I really hope it's rubbish again.
  7. Well, we've never been in the same room together!
  8. I have that exact chair in my office, in that colour as well. It's very comfy, but don't expect quality for that price. Mine had a couple of nicks in on arrival, and now two or three years later there's a good tear in the seat base along the stitching. Not a problem really, just expect to replace it once a year and you'd be okay.

Best thing is to pop in, or give them a ring.
  10. Awww, I totally wanted to know how this ended up
  11. True. I was only there to give your mum some biscuits, though. ;) Sadly, I've never even been to a strip club, much less a proper place of ill repute
  12. Dunno, I watched it with the sound off and it was fine though. It was filmed in Bellend-O-Vision, though.
  13. Given that some smaller petrol engine stuff (Aygo for one, sure there's others, maybe the Polo?) are coming in at that now, I really can't see it being too long before it's changed. Not this side of an election though!
  14. Whore's boudoir?
  15. Why can they not pull themselves up?
  16. That would be incredibly dangerous for me, financially.
  17. Just wait until more vehicles are hybrids and pay no VED at all, they'll soon change the system once the tax revenue dries up.
  18. If Stevo gets to be Hammond, then bagsy I get to be May! And no fear on the wifey front, I'm trading her in for a younger model first
  19. If you like shouty Yanks, then yeah, sure.
  20. It neither pleases nor displeases me. Been more of a shock if he hadn't!
  21. Have you seen his more recent stuff? He was dull as ditchwater at first, but he's far more likeable these days. His P1 video is a classic, but I actually think his F40 vs F50 was better.
  22. People were still being wrong Chris Harris is far more entertaining than Hammond or May when they're doing TG. When they're doing other stuff, that's a bit different.
  23. I think you misunderstand me: I don't want a deadly serious car review programme. I want how TG used to be 10 years ago, when the balance was spot-on. DRIVE manages to get a great balance still, and is arguably the spiritual successor to TG of that era. No doubting the popularity of TG has increased since they ditched the more sensible stuff, I just think that as car people we should consider that a shame rather than a celebration.
  24. I dunno, I get better fuel economy from the BMW than I do from the truck! As for the 370 diesel, just look at how popular the derv TT is.
  25. Some of the most popular shows on TV are I'm A Celebrity, X Factor and Strictly. Doesn't make them good just because people are talking about them, or because they're pulling the viewers in.
