    This annoys me...

Not sure if serious... It hit a tree. Very hard. Because the driver was being a knob. If it had lightly tapped it and spontaneously combusted then fair enough, but this thing had already passed the incredibly stringent US crash test regs, and had hit the tree at over 90MPH! That's huge. I'm not surprised at all the fuel tank ruptured, tbh. I wouldn't necessarily expect any car's fuel tank to stay in one piece if you hit a solid object at that speed.
  3. I can't see they've got any reason to go after anyone. They can't go after the end user, as they paid the tax that was in force at the time, as far as they and HMRC reasonably believed. Could they go after VW? I don't know, but I wouldn't have thought so. Did they attempt to cheat HMRC of money? Arguably yes in a way, but this is no different to an accountant telling his customer to put his cash off-shore: If HMRC get wind then it's the customer who gets clobbered, not the accountant. The only financial penalty could come from the EU folks who do the testing, as an environmental issue. It will always pass MOT. The new code will make it cleaner, not dirtier.
  4. The way I see it, they have two options: Remap the cars to give the emissions they make on the test, which will kill MPG and power output; or they can simply remove the defeat code which then leaves the cars open to being re-classified at the higher tax rate. Either way, if it was me I wouldn't be taking my car anywhere a VW dealer for the rest of it's life.
  5. I don't believe you. I demand photographic proof.
  6. He needs all those keys and the lanyard to make sure he never loses them.
  7. Hang on, I'm confused Ignore which way the wheels are pointing, imagine the wheel is sat on your living room floor. Does the centre of the 'Personal' text tally up with TDC of the wheel?
  8. You're kidding?! Okay, that wouldn't work for me then, OCD would never cope with that. Why on earth would they off-centre it by only a fraction? Crazy!
  9. Is the text off-centre on the top of the wheel, or is it the angle of the pic?
  10. Bargain for brand new Akropovic stuff, where on earth from?!
  11. Cripes, I beg that wasn't cheap! Go on, how much, I have to ask?
  12. Erm, why can't we put cars on ramps any more then?
  13. Makes no odds then, as long as it's a decent brand
  14. That's because the unions are full of c*nts.
  15. Depends, do you want 2bhp or a better noise?
  16. Depends on what you want to achieve though, doesn't it? I know I lost power with the JWT, but the extra noise was far more important to me than 1-2bhp I'd never feel.
  17. Idiots. Both need shooting.
  18. Small world, I'm in also in Halstead! What? I live just past Haverhill, I thought you were in Surrey or something We shall have to meet for a pint/spirited drive/both at some point. Hah, I thought that's where you were from!! Sounds like a plan, I need to get a ride out in the 135 at some point.
  19. Small world, I'm in also in Halstead! What colour is yours?
  20. A good government needs a strong opposition, so Corbyn has to be good for the good of the entire country. From what I've seen so far, he seems to be a bit too content in asking what everyone else wants, rather than what he wants. That kind of weak leadership, however well intentioned it is, simply won't pass muster with the British public. People are going to look back on the ConDem government in a few years and think to themselves, "Hey, that wasn't so bad and they did a pretty good job". I'm right leaning by nature, but I agree 100% with Doc that 100% Tory for too long isn't a good thing.

Blame the lawyers, they're the ones that put the idea in her head, promise. Besides, I don't know why she's complaining, apparently from all the Paul Walker stickers I see on cars he's glad that he died in a burning fiery mess.
  22. It really does. The extra pull is massively noticeable. I just wish it revved a bit higher, if I'm honest, as 6.5K doesn't feel like enough sometimes.
  23. Different != better. However I do agree with you, if you like it then that's all that matters.
  24. I'm not convinced they're either...
  25. From their website: Yeah, it's nasty alright.
