    Blob eye wrx

We had a blobeye widetrack STi. FWIW don't get the WRX, it's nowhere near as quick as you would hope, not these days. It also has a much weaker gearbox than the STi. The STi is an immense car. Our was up around 320bhp with the PPP on it, comfy, practical, cheap to run... Oh no wait, that last bit is a lie: 20mpg on a run was about right! Lovely car though, wish we'd never got rid of it. But yes, as above check for crash damage and rust as well, that can be a killer of these things.
  2. Out of curiosity, do you have a cost for all this work matey? PM if you don't want to post it up here. Going to be a like a new car at the end of this!
  3. Cheaper doesn't always equal better. The sales guy is right, banks can't do PCP which is the most popular way of buying a new car right now, and if you look at the outright APR% dealers won't be the cheapest. However, once you start looking at the overall ownership and what the market may or may not do at the end of the term, a PCP from a dealer can work out cheaper than straight HP. I suspect it very well might do with the Mustang too, assuming the market doesn't get flooded with them or something else comes out that's better £ for HP.
  4. Well yes, of course I was making up figures. It's called an example, and was the only way I could see to get a straight answer! My offer of paying for your dyno time still stands, btw.
  5. Prepare for the worst and you can't go wrong, just in case the DVLA decide to make up their own rules
  6. ^^^ That's the attitude, well played sir!
  7. I challenge anyone who is not a race driver to be driven at high speeds by a professional driver and NOT feel sick. Hell, even those of us who have done track days have probably had at least one passenger get out and mention that they weren't feeling great after a session in the seat next to you. When you're not doing the driving, the inner ear isn't always that happy with high speed, high G force manoeuvres. Absolute non-story.
  8. You didn't answer my question. However, let's go back and do this one bit at a time, painful as that may be. I'm not saying you're saying that any gains will always be the same: However, am I correct in saying that you believe that, ignoring any degredation of the engine, that breathing mods including exhuast and CAI/panel filters will remain there forever without a remap? Is that bit correct? To give a basic example that allows you to answer yes or no, a 2004 car makes 270bhp on a dyno, then is immediately fitted with a new free-flowing exhaust and is dyno'd at 280bhp on the same day on the same dyno: Do you believe this gain is there for good?
  9. Shame no V8, but given your circumstances it's probably the wise decision. Congrats matey
  10. Chuck it in the other thread, if you like. I'd rather keep it all in open forum.
  11. True enough! Trouble comes if you have a smack up and they start investigating though, not sure I'd risk it for £50 or whatever it is.
  12. The use that the OP is after wouldn't be covered by trade plates, unless I'm missing the obvious. Even ignoring the fact he's not a trader
  13. It's when registered in the UK IIRC. So in your example, the car would pay the higher rate of VED.
  14. *sigh* That has precisely zero to do with anything. Just so we're absolutely clear, would it be reasonable to state the following as fact? - You, one single person, says that a 350Z will always make extra power when you add breathing mods, and that these gains will stay there forever and a day WITHOUT a remap. - The collective knowledge of over 10 years of all the users on here (plus little ol' me) say that a 350Z will initially make extra power after breathing mods are added, but that the ECU will cancel these gains out after a short period of time UNLESS you remap. The one proven exception being a plenum spacer on the DE engined cars. Is that correct? Yes or no is fine. I just need a baseline to work from.
  15. Yeah, you'll have to tax the car for the whole month even if only using it for a day.
  16. If that's the stupidest thing you've ever heard, then clearly you've not read your own posts back on this forum. The rest of us have sadly had to put up with reading much more unintelligible garbage than my simple yet factually correct statement.
  17. Bearing in mind the one breathing mod we know keeps the gains is a plenum spacer, which the OP has. Not aimed at you Ricky, just commenting in general.
  18. Agreed. Cough up and accept it I think, bearing in mind you'll also have to lose a month of VED as well.
  19. Been a lovely day here, gorgeous sunshine and a pleasant 5c.
  20. I'm guessing a plenum spacer by Wasso, a custom 3" midpipe, Motordyne ART decats and a Pipercross air intake
  21. Ugly as sin, but worth it for the engine. We looked at one before buying the Mini, and I really wish I'd put my foot down and pushed wifey in that direction instead. M Sport steering wheel, perchance?
