I had an NA a few years back, although not at the same time as my Zed. I've driven a couple of Ncs too. Night and day. For me, the NC is a shadow of the NA and NB, and I wouldn't even place one against a 350 in any comparative term. The 350 steers better, brakes better, feels better, goes better etc. The only thing the NC has is the lower weight and a better gearchange, but that's it. In terms of the drive, it's an absolute no brainer to pick a 350 over an NC.

This car is awesome in the flesh. I've never been a fan of the R33, but I will say this has changed my mind on them.

Fitted mine today, surprisingly simple to find space to run the cable round half the car as apparently BMW fit and finish for the interior includes plenty of gaps between panels Nice bit of kit, easy to set up, quality appears fine. Eight thumbs out of ten so far.

The medical includes a basic eye test.

Would you buy one over the M3 though? The Alfa is prettier, and probably doesn't have silly spiky power deliveries, but awful dealer network + dodgy Italian manufacturing doesn't inspire confidence from an ownership POV. Hell, I'd take a C63 over either in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't be touching that car. Any dealer that muffles on about limited warranty and then haggled prices to be sold as spares or repair isn't worth dealing with, utter crooks who have zero idea of the law.

When you say you can't get on, what happens exactly?

Go get your ARDS National B licence test done first, if you haven't already. A good place to do it is Bedford, they're not overly strict there on the driving test part compared with somewhere like Silverstone. Then go pick a race series! MX5 Championship is cheap but often over-subscribed, MR2 Championship slightly easier to get into but still full grids, or there's a ton of others. It's not cheap though, I reckon you're looking around £10K for a season including testing, parts, repairs, travelling, accommodation etc but still massively worth doing. I accept that number could be significantly lower or higher before anyone grabs me on it, I'm leaving it here purely as an average for the guy. I don't follow much other club racing series, so there may well be better options out there, I'm sure the usual suspects will be by to add their knowledge to the mix as well soon.

No point in paying a premium for a special edition car then chopping it to pieces, IMHO.
