It's an odd bit of kit, when your phone rings it does it through the speakers but when you answer it diverts back to the phone: I've not looked at whether you can then transfer back to speakers (I should check that really). I have my phone mounted by the centre console, approx the same distance away as in the 350 if you had it by the cubby, and the mike picks it up fine. It's not perfect for that, but then it's not designed for it so the fact it copes is a bonus.

At the age of your car, personally I'd see it as an opportunity for a refresh. A set of BC Racing dampers & springs would be where my money went, looking at around £650 for the lot. Give Tarmac a shout, he's got mine for me at a better price than going direct.

I swore I'd never, ever recommend an FM transmitter ever again after the shocking quality of the ones I tried when I had a 350Z. The tape deck sounded better using 20 year old tapes! HOWEVER This now exists. I've bought two now, one for the Bummer and one for the Clio, and they're utterly fabulous. Couple them with a Brodit mount and I fail to see why you'd ever want to spend the money on a new HU unless you must have other gimmickery. These aren't cheap, granted, but they're the only thing I'd recommend and I don't recommend any old tat.

You have the offer, so unless you tell them how are they going to know? As long as you were truthful when applying then that's about as far as it goes I suspect, certainly I don't recall any wording that requires you to tell them if you plan on changing jobs. Put it this way: What difference practically is there if you changed now or the day after you move in? Still a huge risk either way, but this early on the risk is very much with you not the mortgage company.

The only negative I can think of is possible insurance issues, as some insurers can still be a bit funny about remaps and extra power. That said, they're normally the mainstream ones and since you've already got a bunch of mods on there it's unlikely to apply to you. I say go for it!

I've just watched it. Really enjoyed it, and now I kinda see what they're trying to do with the show. You have the proper Top Gear that carries on where the old one left off: There's never going to be anything special there, nor any real meat for the proper petrolheads. That's where Extra Gear comes in IMHO. They can be more relaxed, less arty, more geeky, and slightly less concerned about making the big bucks. Rory is a natural in front of the camera, I'd expect to see him do some stuff for the proper show really soon, he's excellent. Harris is also brilliant as he's proved on his own stuff, here however he came across as a bit of an idiot and I can see people not really taking to him if they continue to edit him like that. However, the EG stuff itself was interesting, funny, clever and intelligently shot, proving they've got a very good team behind the scenes. This is kinda what I always hoped TG would be, both entertaining and geeky. They've had to split it into two shows to do it, but I can now see exactly how they're trying to move the show forward. I'd say EG is as much a must-see as TG itself is.

The presenters were announced months ago, did you not see that bit? It was always going to be CE & MLB as the main people, then bits and pieces from the other three.

Still higher than the opening show of last series though.

That's what he does though, he's a lively shouty person on TV. Also, he was nervous as f*ck which didn't help I suspect. In all seriousness, it was okay. I'll watch it again as there's hints of evidence it's not just going to be the same old guff, but at the same time the Star thing in the Mini definitely didn't work at all. MLB is genius though, he really is going to make or break it I think. Thank god the news bit has gone, that was always pointless, and hopefully Harris will be in it more than just on BBC3 behind the scenes. Putting aside my equal hate for old TG and my fangirlness for Evans, I reckon it's a solid 7/10. Could be better, but a promising start.

Because you need to rig in greater quantities to defeat a genuine vote, which is harder to achieve. But yes, I agree that we as a nation are by far one of the 'cleanest' countries in the world for this stuff.

Maser is a 3200, not 3500. A good choice, certainly charismatic if a trifle brave to run at that price point.
