  1. The tyres I want only go 265 they don't do 275. 265 no good? 265 40 fine , I've got them on mine Hankooks
  2. Hi all Have here full system off Uk car 54 plate. All in fair condition, the Y pipe outer braiding is worn but inner ok see pics, middle pipe has lost a bit of the flange during removal, my exhaust guy reckons you could sleeve this or wet it, back box in good condition again see the pics , the flange area needs cleaning up with an angle grinder , mine is knackered or I'd have done it ! Tail pips look as tho they'd polish up a bit but looked fine on the car a you only really see the tips. Should be a good system for someone who needs a cheap replacement and does not mind a bit of fiddling, I've put on plenty of pics so you can see condition for yourself, would rater it all went in one go hence price to sell I hope !! Collection from leicester £75.00 Cheers for looking Zedrock
  3. Having had a TVR Griff 500 a few years bak i wouldn't worry, if something made from old crisp packets and meccano ad help together with zip ties and gaffer tape can get away with no driver aids whatsoever i'm sure a well engineered Jap car will be fine! The only action control on that was your right foot, in fact when I went to renew the insurance after my first year owning it came down loads, I ate why and they said "if you've survived the first year you are good risk" !
  4. With the help of Tarmac Sportz went front 9" ET 15 rear 10" ET 25 looks good and no negative effects on handling etc
  5. Yep could def be the case, I took a punt as I have a good mechanic who I know if worst came to the worst would sort it one way or another, he had a right battle trying to undo the rusty bolts on the stock system at the front end, luckily in this case no need, I previously had a Cybox exhaust for my daily drive MG ZT 190 and that took a bit of tweaking to get it to hang right but he sorted it for me so I knew I was in good hands. To be honest at just over 300 quid for cat back even if I'd had to spend another 50 getting it altered still not too bad, the mid section and back box came with gaskets etc just had to get a couple for the Y pipe, the quality of the welds and the gauge of the steel all good, but as you say you pays your money and makes your choice, i'd love a true dual at some point in the future but for the time being this will do the job. Noticed the aux belt was looking a bit perished and cracked so asked him to change both of them whilst he had it in, theoretically an easy job but nuts on the undertrad all seized so had to remove the strut brace and go in from the top combined with an arm thru the wheel arch liner, he loves me and my "easy"jobs !

  7. Not much louder, just a bit more bassy and a slight crackle on the overrun , cruising not noticeably louder just a bit more when you push it, more of a deeper tone than anything.

PS they seem to do two Y pipes if the info is orredt on eBay , 1 2.5" in and 3" out and one says 2.25" in and 2.5" out ,I've got the latter

  10. Millet back box turned out to be a non starter as without the mid section wouldn't fit , more haste less speed on the research front ! No harm done got my money back as had been described as straight bolt on replacement ! Although a few negative comments on here I took the risk and ordered a Toyosport off Ebay, managed to get one in an auction for £189 inc delivery instead of the 250 they sell them for that was for Y pipe back, then a couple of days later they reduced the price on the Y pipe so got that too for 107 inc delivery, had it fitted today and my man was impressed with the quality, took him longer to get the stock system off with rusted bolts etc than to fit the new one, went on easy , one tail pipe does hang very slightly lower that the other but so did my stock one, may go back and get the bracket heated and bent if it annoys me enough but it's hardly noticeable ! Sound is slightly deeper than stock not too loud no drone just a good growl when you give it some beans but I have a Mishimoto induction Kit on which adds to the sound a bit too, overall good value for money if (as me ) you don't have the cash to hand for a higher end one . Will try and post some sound clips on here to compare to the stock system ones soon. For the time being that's the mod boxes ticked, Aerial,Wheels and tyres, induction kit and exhaust, probably enough for the first 6 weeks !

    tyre decision

I looked online at the German tyre tests and as couldn't quite stretch to MPSS went for Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo 2 K117 , got some very high placings in the tests and they seem great so far on the car , was replacing 2 year old MPSS, under £400 for four from Oponeo too
