  1. ^^^This. Unless you get RHD lights, you'll never pass MOT.

    'STANG thread

It was a rhetorical question, I don't really care

It's voluntary, so really unless you know your vehicle is good enough you'd be better off leaving it at home. Trouble with the NCAP tests is that they're not consistent: That 2 star mark might well have been 4 star a few years back. Plus just look at the stuff it's missing and marked down for, that really would have no bearing on anything (what the hell is 'i-Size' anyway?). That said, it was silly of Ford to put it through the test if they weren't confident of at least 4 stars. Personally speaking I don't remotely care about crash protection ratings, but I can see that those with kids probably do.
  4. Agreed, crap situation all round. I think they might've been more helpful were it not for the lack of dealer servicing, but there you go. Probably not a lot more, mind.
  5. I agree, which is why I suggested the sensors first.
  6. As your car is a 2011 model, it doesn't fall into the recall section. It sucks, but really there's precious little you can do here apart from suck it up and get it sorted at your own cost. Legally, I don't see where you can go as your contract is with the supplying dealer not Nissan (when did you buy the car?). I agree that I'd be mad as hell too and vow never to buy another, but that's the world we live in I'm afraid. Nissan really do not have a clue about customer service, especially on their sporty models unless it's a GT-R.
  7. It is a hell of a travel for you, but I can highly recommend Valet Magic in Camberley, Surrey. They did mine, and I've had nothing but positive comments from people in terms of the quality of mine. It's now been on for over 6 months and still looks perfect, nothing is peeling up or lifting at all and I've personally seen wraps that have started to lift significantly after just a few months. Quality of service is important too when you're dropping a few £k on a wrap, and Robbie was absolutely superb when I had a minor flaw in mine just above an exhaust tip. Could've been the heat from the exhaust tbh, but it was replaced and sorted with zero quibble from him. Highly professional, really friendly and just an all round pleasure to deal with. http://www.valetmagic.com/ I genuinely wouldn't even look anywhere else, and it were reversed and I was having to travel to Yorkshire for that kind of quality, I still would without hesitation.
  8. Did you know they're working on a version of it for VR? I can't wait until that comes out
  9. Don't forget to call your current insurer now to tell them about the mods, as right now if you have an accident you're not covered.
  10. See, an RB kit on the Cube could actually work. Give some angles to it.
  11. Isn't vandalism Cat U? I.e. not reported. Cat U just means the car isn't owned by an insurance company, i.e. there was no insurance in place for it, but the damage to it would cause it to be a write off if it were reported.
  12. For a fat ugly arse, I'd say the 350Z ragtop has it beaten hands down.
  13. Don't go used, waste of time and money as the cost is in the labour to fit. Exedy clutch/fly combo would be my pick.
  14. My car is modified??? Apart from some different paint it's stock :S Current mods in order of fitment and purchase dates - Stubby, Carbon dipped interior parts, Carbon mirror covers,Carbon B pillars,Grooved Black Diamond discs/pads, MPSS Set with Refurbed Rays - changed colour to anthracite, Gold lightweight nuts That's modified.
  15. When something is ugly, it's ugly. No-one ever sits there and goes "That Diane Abbott, she's a right looker don't you think?". Well, not any sane person anyway.
  16. Ring them up, it'll be quicker. They may well not be able to cover you though, given your age and the fact your car is modified.
  17. Depends on how hard you are on the brakes, really. I'm very light, others are very heavy. Never used the Orange myself, I have tried the Yellows on track and they would easy stand up to a few days worth of abuse. I'd expect the Orange to be even better tbh, and really it's the fluid you need to be more worried about than the pads falling apart: It's very easy to overheat the fluid on a 350, especially if you're hard on the brakes (or if you're not: On a proper TD at the Ring I boiled mine, and the Ring isn't hard on brakes at all). I'm very surprised you killed a set of OEM pads in just three sessions, are you using very aggressive discs? Personally I'd be running ATE 200 fluid as minimum, plus braided lines and whatever choice of vented disc you fancy.
  18. Yup, as you've changed the balance of grip between front and rear.
  19. Throwing more glue and tat at a poor design doesn't improve it. That is absolutely gopping. Honestly, these things are the Veilside of the '10s.
  20. Almost certainly. As I said on FB, I think you'd be better off just getting it wrapped rather than attempting to fix the paint.

I didn't realise that the brakelines were different between Brembo and non-Brembo. Ignore me then, Kyle gives the correct answer.
  22. I had a chat with CG last week regarding tyres, as I'm thinking of moving to Cup2s (which apparently isn't really doable unless you're running a minimum of 2deg neg camber all round, as it requires a certain contact patch to achieve the correct grip levels. Anything under that and you'll simply wear the tyre too quickly in the wrong places) and I asked them their opinions on the regular MPS4. The consensus was that they're significantly better than the MPSS, mostly due to using the same 4-compound construction as the Cup2s rather than the 2-compound construction in the MPSS. I mention this as the guy in the link says that he couldn't tell the difference between MPSS and MPS4S, which kinda contradicts that. Michelins are also quite noisy road tyres (their one big downfall), so it's surprising to hear him say that he found road noise minimal on the 4S. That said, road noise is subjective. That's not to knock the quality of the review at all, and indeed he clearly knows his stuff, just quirks of different opinions is all. Interesting how he says that 18" and 17" are coming in 2018, which I find to be both very good news and also very surprising. Personally I'll be amazed if they do, but it certainly makes tyre choice for next year interesting. For now, I'm keen to try the MPS4 and see what they're like.
