  1. Don't worry about it, just come along anyway, always tons of space at SS
  2. Lesson learnt, always read the instructions where it specifically says to mask stuff off. Respray time I'm afraid.
  3. Told you I was going to waste it
  4. Oh, MPSS/Porsche/portrait vids etc.
  5. I can still remember my first post on here, I think it was about a week before I bought mine and I'd found that it had the issue where the window wouldn't come up again. Bizarrely that issue that was really really common a few years back has pretty much died a death now, we don't get too many 350Z owners on here asking about that any more. Same with clicky axles, that used to be a daily routine almost. Actually it was Feb 2nd I picked the car up, I remember now as it was supposed to be the 1st but the useless buggers didn't get the paperwork done in time. Meant picking it up on a Saturday rather than a Friday night, IIRC. Ah, those were t' days, back when this was all fields...
  6. Heh, I've assisted with my own MOTs before as well, feels very weird the first time!
  7. I really like garages where they just let you walk in and have a look around at stuff. Center Gravity were happy for me to even get involved in doing some bits on my car the other week, and Roger Clark Motorsport made a point of showing us around when we took the Scoob there last week. My local indie BMW place is also happy for me to walk around when I'm there. Porsche Colchester were also excellent, and it was so handy to talk to the tech who was actually working on my car at the time so he could point bits out. I can see why bigger chains with more paranoid H&S people might not want to let you though, one more thing out of their control and a risk assessor's nightmare.
  8. I'm going to deliberately waste it on purpose now
  9. Not remotely annoyed, just puzzled and confused. And flattered, if truth be told. I always enjoy a good thread when it's about me
  10. So what the eff is this about then?!
  11. *insert Alan Partridge clip here*
  12. Mine is setup so it'll come on if the car is moved, ignition on or off. Even if they're only moving the car backwards and forwards in the workshop, you're still being recorded. Tbh when my car has been in for work I'd much rather they did take it for a quick test drive to confirm everything is working as it should do.
  13. Actually, I've just realised that I've been incredibly presumptuous in assuming he was talking about me. There must be other Dans on here. I humbly apologise if I've stolen their glory.
  14. That's a good shout, hadn't even noticed that connection tbh. Does that make me 90% better? Or does it just mean I spout 90% more bullsh*t? Actually, don't answer that...
  15. I wouldn't want to be filmed whilst doing my day job either, tbh. Nothing to hide particularly, but I may have conversations with colleagues that could easily be taken out of context or use language that could be found offensive by some.
  16. So almost certainly an MOT failure, and possibly illegal to drive with any way if you can see the footage whilst it's on.
  17. Where was the dashcam fitted to? As in, exact location? Mine is behind my rear view mirror, for example, so cannot be seen by the driver unless you crane your neck around.
  18. Oh mate, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, that really sucks If it's any consolation, you're not doing anything different to what every other person in the world does when a relationship breaks down. I did it, others on here will have done it too. It does get better, it just takes time. You cannot rush things or make feelings go away, all you can do is focus on the end goal of your own happiness and remember that any contact with her is going to set you back from that. Keeping in that in mind *will* help you stay strong, I promise.
  19. No. Unless it was the driver's fault of course, but in that case you'd be ripping the dashcam out yourself quick smart
  20. Erm, yay? Clearly at some point in my life I've made reference to being annoyed at 2500 posts or similar, but I'll be damned if I can remember when or why!
  21. Personally I wouldn't be reviewing the footage after a service in the first place, certainly don't on mine. I either trust the garage, or I don't: What's on the footage is neither here nor there. Not the world's worst idea though if you suspect something or have been caught out before, I will admit that. It sounds like to me you've made your mind up about them already, and won't use them again. For me though, I'd be happy to use them again and just ensure that they know you want the camera left connected next time.
