Totally preferred the BRZ to the 86, felt sharper and more accurate, plus the interior didn't have the faux carbon fibre. Great car mate, hope you really enjoy it
-
Lovely colour Absolutely beautiful choice, subtle yet eye-catching. Who did it? Please lose the film on the lights and the text though!
-
Excellent, thank you! Can I ask which broker, and which underwriter?
-
Something like a stereo is a mod that 99% of insurers will still insure you for, just at a higher premium: Worst case there is that you get a reduced payout if they decide to play silly buggers. For those asking why you'd want a more sensitive throttle in a Lambo, well why would you want it in the 350? Is it because the throttle response is a little dull at times, and you'd like it to be more lively? Same thing applies in a Lambo! Typical Audi throttle controls I'm afraid, it does make a massive difference. Personally I prefer it without, but each to their own.

Brilliant news, I can only imagine how relieved you both are
-
Indeed, my own BMW has it as standard. I just find it very odd that an insurer (REIS was the broker, don't know the underwriter) just refused to entertain the idea of insuring it as a mod.
-
Tbh, in the real world if you didn't involve anyone else they're only going to have a cursory glance. If you run into a bus stop full of kids you cripple for life, they're going to start being a bit more thorough.
-
As always, it depends on what your insurer asks for. They may not ask for certain things, or they may ask in exacting detail. Go with what the paperwork says.
-
Well, if people are going to do stupid things I'm going to call them on it Besides, if they haven't declared it then they're no help to me anyway. I wouldn't declare a 350z-uk sticker stuck to the car somewhere. I wouldn't declare if I sprayed my wheel nuts black, or my rusting backbox (fnar) silver. I wouldn't declare putting better spark plugs in. I wouldn't declare a CG Lock. There's probably more, I'm just trying to think of obscure stuff.

Which is fine in theory, until mate has an accident that renders him unconscious and he gets dragged out before being able to do anything.
-
True, and I guess if it was only fitted for that purpose they may not care quite so much. Worryingly, I think you're correct.

How have you described the device to your insurers? And how keen were they to accept it? I ask as my mate who owns the Gallardo is struggling to insure it with a Sprint Booster attached (same thing, adjusts throttle sensitivity) as the underwriter says "I am not keen to cover this modification. It seems that although the BHP isn’t increased there is more chance of losing control of the vehicle or causing an accident due to the high sensitivity of the throttle after installation. There is also several reports of engine failure/fires linked to this device". Now I call BS on the fires and engine failure isn't covered by insurance anyway, but the losing control thing makes sense I guess. I just wondered who you guys are insured with, and how did you describe the mod? For this example, let's pretend no-one's actually stupid enough to fit one and then not tell their insurer.

G35 Skyline. 350Z platform but with four seats, and (IMHO) desperately ugly and bland.

Zoom Q2n camera and a live video of my band.....

Could do with finding a space lower down near the base drum, as it gets lost in the mix and the cymbols sound a bit tinny because of it. Also, was it a tad cold in there perchance?! There's a great connection there between all of you, you feed off each other nicely. Much preferred it when the tempo increased, personally I'd consider holding that a little longer and shortening the slower parts to make it more dynamic. Loved the bass fills though dude, worked perfectly In terms of recording quality, then yes, that's exceptionally good quality! I know how much of a pain it is trying to get good recording quality when in a room that small without the sound clipping. More of this please fella -
The fact it takes a Mustang then ruins it with a Jap engine swap is bad enough. And don't even get me started on that Failside...

Anyone else up for this? I've just plonked myself on as a spur of the moment thing, figured I'd give the big Bee-Em it's first proper track runout since I started the mods. Currently £169, and insurance is also available from www.insuremytrackday.com for around £85 with a 10% excess. Never driven Snet before, should be fun
-
To add to this, www.insuremytrackday.com are also an option, underwritten by Hiscox and a supremely easy to use website with no guff and some seriously decent prices. Looks like they insure the Ring (including armco damage) too!

Step Children and relationship break ups....

Never, we're your friends and we're always here for you. -
TD was boring and pretentious. It had none of the fun of any of the others, not even 2F2F.

Step Children and relationship break ups....

Breakups are crap regardless of who you are, or who you think you are. They're soul destroying, painful, and they leave you empty. And every single time you eventually get over it. May be a month, may be a year, but it does happen. You never forget the good times, but you do stop craving them and you end up a happier person -

It's going to happen, trust me on this. It always does, every single time. People very rarely end relationships just because they're unhappy, they normally do it because they've seen something better that's on the horizon. -

Tough luck whether she can afford it or not, she should've thought about that when asking you to take the loan out for her! You may be happy paying it now, but will you be equally happy when she's shacked up next month with some other guy banging her senseless on a regular basis? Sorry to put it so bluntly, however this is the reality of the situation and it's not a nice situation to be in. Like you say, you're liable for the loan regardless now and I'm just hoping she doesn't realise that. -
£20 says that's a Revup.
-
Probably, but not easily I don't think. Alex would be the person to ask on that. I'm not buying it, to do a full interior change plus all the exterior stuff would cost more than simply swapping the car for a different one. Not easy to do an engine swap either, as IIRC the Revup doesn't play nicely with DE electrics and vice versa.

Utter shambles, all because the oil tank wasn't the right shape. McLaren really are a pack of losers now, they've made one mistake after another since Lewis won the title.
