  1. Selling two of the above. Bought with the intention of fitting to the Zed but sadly my plans have changed so they may as well go to a good home! Both sets never fitted and are in immaculate condition as you would expect, and as they have the seatbelt-type locking mechanism on them they're MOT-friendly if you want to remove your old seatbelts. I'm only asking £65 +P&P (or collection from Braintree/Stansted Airport) for both of them, would suit an azure blue Zed wonderfully and certainly lift the interior!
  2. The 313 cars had a recall issued about the alarm problem: The alarm box needs changing. All under warranty, get it booked in and they can do it the same day they do the service
  3. Alright, chill out beansprout. Take a deep breath and let's start again, shall we? Right, as far as me calling you an expert goes I'd call 90% of the regulars here an expert on 350Zs, mainly because they know the car far better than Joe Bloggs in the street and usually equally as good as any Nissan dealer. I wouldn't necessarily class a dealer as an expert with 350Zs due to the scarcity of them, but some places (Middlehurst springs to mind) certainly would go down under that title. Do you see what I'm getting at here? You don't need to know every little thing about the car to be classed as an expert: There's no diploma that gives you that title, but if you've got enough basic knowledge about the car and then a few specific bits over the top as well then I'd say you're an expert. That's my own view on things, no doubt you'll get the hump about that as well though. I don't "know all" as you so eloquently put it, but what I do know I'm happy to share with others. I've gained 99% of my knowledge through listening to what others say on this board, and tbh you'd do well to do the same. Everyone is telling you that, no matter what lap times and amazing driving ability you think you have on track, you have absolutely zero mechanical sympathy for your car and combining that with your aggressive style it is causing these failures. You've already mentioned that you're activating the ABS on the new discs but haven't even bedded them in yet: Then why the f*ck are you driving so hard on them?! Take the car out, bed the brakes in and then start seeing what they can do, else you're going to screw them up as well. You seem to have no idea just when to take the advice that so many people (even me, between my bouts of trying to drum a bit of common sense into you) are dishing out to you, instead you just fly on and wait for the next thing to break. You're quite correct, I do tend to have an opinion on most things, but I'm not aware of that being a crime. I am aware that I do tend to come across as a bit harsh at times and that's most certainly a failing on my part, but I tend to get somewhat frustrated when people simply won't listen to the advice they're being given. And as for never having met you, I don't believe that's a pre-requisite for forming an opinion of someone. I want to have Kelly Clarkson's children but have never met her, and would like to punch Katie Price in the face but I've never met her either. Do you see what I'm getting at? Look, above all we're all 350Z owners and we all want to make the most out of our cars. I'm sorry you feel victimised, but I'm honestly just trying to help you along here as is everyone else. Please accept my humblest apologies and whilst I won't say anything else in this thread so as to not force the issue and put the Mods in a place they'd probably rather not be, I'll make a concerted effort to address you in any other thread on here with a more open mind. Sound okay to you?
  4. So because a 350Z expert (Greekman, not Alex) couldn't tell if the discs were on the right way round or not, the garage should? Whilst they obviously screwed it up and they've tried to make amends by offering to fit the new ones for free, I'd always check myself to make sure stuff was fitted correctly afterwards to the best of my knowledge: I did so for the PF brakes I had fitted last week at my local garage, and again when DMS fitted some bracing and suspension bits for me, and again whenever I have directional tyres put on. I'm no mechanical master when it comes to fitting things which is why I get the professionals to do it for me, but I also know that when I'm supplying the parts I take part of the risk on myself. I'm not trying to argue here that Greekman doesn't have a case at all here as he clearly does, but to put all the blame on the Nissan garage (who don't have to fit aftermarket parts and this is partly the reason many don't) is a tad unfair IMHO given the abuse that the brakes on his car see. They're trying to make amends, so why not meet them halfway and try and get them to chuck in free labour on the next service as well? Labour is free for them, parts aren't, so they're more likely to give the former away in a compromise.
  5. Just to play Devil's advocate for a minute, look at it another way... You certainly know what you're talking about when it comes to the Zed and the various aftermarket options available to you, and were quite happy for Nissan to fit. However, even a cursory glance at the discs after fitting would quickly have revealed that the discs were fitted the wrong way, so why did it take you so long to notice? Why did you leave it so long before doing anything about it (discolouration of the calipers in mind here)? Should Nissan pay a majority of the cost when even the owner and 350Z expert couldn't tell that there was something drastically wrong? I'm not saying I agree with that, but it's always worth thinking about everything Nissan might counter with. Also I really wouldn't even bother trying to lie to them and saying that you didn't track it, as that will almost certainly come back to bite you in the arse. Be honest and you've got a fairly acceptable case for an amicable solution, but start lying and they'll start playing a bit harder.
  6. Think they're standard: Were certainly on the cars I looked over at JAE.
  7. I've got a set of OEM 18"s for sale, no tyres but then I'm only after £200 for the wheels which is what I paid for them. Am in Braintree too so nice and close Clicky
  8. Bah, sorted out a pair from Etyres in the end, £454 fitted. Will remember for next time though!
  9. I would humbly disagree: My car spends 90% of it's life on the road, and the bracing has made more of a difference than I ever thought possible. It gives you so much more feel from the chassis that you can push it further than you ever thought possible, confident in the knowledge that it'll give you more than enough warning for when anything starts to let go. That confidence alone is worth more than a few tenths wherever you are, road or track. Bear in mind I'm on stock suspension as well and I hate to think just how good the car would be with some really decent suspension on there... That said, and to answer the OPs question, I think that your suggestion of just doing the ARBs is a pretty good alternative as well. If you choose the right ones and don't go too stiff, then you'll actively increase the cornering ability of the car without suffering from wheels trying to jump off the road when one side hits a bump. Jables, if all you want to do is to go faster with more control then personally I'd spend the budget on tyres (I love the Michelin PS2s for their feel and wet handling charateristics, but these are proving hard to get hold of in the correct sizes recently so I would also look at the Vredestien Ultrac Sessantas), if you want more feel but with increased body stiffness then the Summit/ GT Spec bracing pack (same thing essentially) is the way to go, or if you just want a little sharper drive through the corners then the ARBs is a great solution. In an ideal world though, you'd do the lot and I'd argue that the car would be a whole lot better to drive than just sticking an expensive set of suspension on there, but that's another story...

    heel+toe

You don't have to turn your heel, just roll your foot over between the two pedals. Is much easier with the Nismo pedal though, I must admit. I use the technique on every gear change if possible, is far more sympathetic on the clutch and box if done correctly.
  11. I've only got about 1.5mm left above the wear markers on my PS2s on the rear, and since I've a track day coming up I thought it best to purchase a couple more in preparation for killing the current ones off. Now it might just be me and my Google-fu letting me down, but I've only found one place on the interwebs that's actually got any 245/45/18 listed, much less in stock! Okay, so there are plenty on eBay (but I personally wouldn't be happy buying tyres from there anyway), and I haven't tried my local tyre fitters as they're usually very expensive on these, but I'm sure there used to be loads of places that sold these. Are Michelin winding down that size, or do I just fail at tyre finding? It'd be a shame if it's the former as these are the greatest tyres I've ever had, and they suit the Zed so very well
  12. Logitech G25. Accept nothing less.
  13. It also sounds absolutely shite. You lose all the sound quality from the music, which is why the only decent solution is to replace the head unit with something decent. I tried the tape adaptor, I tried the transmitter, and the only decent solution is the expensive one unfortunately.
  14. You can get TomTom, Nav-wotsit and all the others on the JesusPhone, but they're all very poor due to the lack of battery life and quite crummy GPS used in the phone, and even the most basic TT One would do the job far better. At least, that's what I do having read numerous reviews on them all.
  15. Zoom isn't worth it as it's all done digitally AFAIK: Just do it on your PC/Mac when you get home. For satnav you're probably best off buying a dedicated unit right now as none of the current gen really does it all well. For finding stuff nearby just use the Maps app and search via the in-built function. Power/file management I haven't a clue, sorry! There's probably a ton of websites out there that will have the mosquito noise as a free MP3/WAV/whatever, download it from there and add via iTunes.

    Bushes? Bushs?

While you're they're you might as well do the lot, certainly no harm in it.
  17. Umm, isn't no.6 actually a VX220 Turbo due to the dark inside of the cluster as opposed to the grey of the NA ones? /geek
  18. If it's a scarcely used fix in cars then it really won't make a difference if it disappears.
  19. I bet they all would've loved a piece of it, as it probably would've been a decent game as the Ukraine are pretty strong at home.
  20. That's for the HD stream, the SD one is free. If you want the HD stream then you're probably better off just paying for the official one. Personally I'm hoping as many people boycott it as possible, if for nothing else to try and make it very unprofitable for anyone to try again in the future.

    Disabling ABS

    How would you know?!
  22. Cosworth filters are quite highly regarded on here, but I wouldn't bother with any additional intake pipes as you won't get anything extra out of them: The stock setup really is that good.

    GT-R front bumper

I quite like the AIT Racing one, but the other's just have too many blank spaces in the front for my taste. Ironically the AM one actually looks very nice and suits the lines of the Zed very well, but there's no way I'd ever have something that blatant on my car.

    Headlights...

AutobulbsDirect are as good as any, and have a decent selection too. Purchased stuff from them before with no hassle whatsoever.
