  1. I would do the brake fluid annually and then an oil change every 6K miles if you're doing an average of about 4 trackdays a year plus 10K road miles. Certainly that's what I do but with fewer road miles.

    show cage

I can see it from both points tbh. Yes, of course people should be allowed and positively encouraged to try something different on their cars, but they should also be strong enough of conviction to carry it through if they're keen enough about it. On the other hand, there's things that just really shouldn't be done because otherwise your car will end up either a) ugly as sin or dangerous as hell. This 'mod' falls straight into the latter category, hence the strong reaction. I tend not to keep my opinions to myself (some may have noticed ) but that's the beauty of an open forum: Everyone is allowed to express their opinion within the rules. We're all grown adults and should be able to take criticism with or without the pinch of salt, and because the interweb is such a free and wonderful place then if we still don't like what we're hearing then we're all free to naff off somewhere else. If you don't want opinions over a mod, then don't post up about it! My styles and tastes are very conservative (Le Mans stickering notwithstanding) and performance based hence I find most of the cosmetic mods here really quite distasteful, but that's just my opinion. I know a great many more people would shoot me down for running a car on Rays that's not got the spacers on or isn't even lowered, and again I'd be happy to listen to them before completely dismissing them out of hand. The point I'm trying to make here is that this is a fantastic board, not only as a place of knowledge but also as a place of social chat. The Zed is old enough now that people have seen it all and done it all, and if it's not been done there's a very good reason for it. Show cage sits right up there with tinted film on your front and rear lights as something that may look good when the car is on show, but is dangerous for use on the road. The inhabitants of this forum have simply called the idea out as such, and should be commended for that not lambasted.
  3. Not Thor. Despite their rep with the MR2 boys, previous experience (and current ones with mates) means that I'd never send anyone there if they can help it.
  4. You don't have to be an opera singer to know that Jedward can't sing, if you see what I mean
  5. I don't care if you can sing a bit love, you're bloody fugly and hurting my eyes so be a good lass and naff off so I can perv over the Minogue, ta

    show cage

Having a show cage in the car when driving on the road is the equivalent of wanking with a noose round your neck: You may think it's really cool and just good fun, but one slight mistake and you're dead. Regardless of the opinion of taste, it's dangerous to have such a thing in a moving car and people should be rightly called out on it. Ugly bodykits are one thing, safety is a completely different matter IMHO.
  7. That's not switching, that's called replacing worn tyres.
  8. They're very good tyres, so personally I wouldn't switch.
  9. +1 for the Poorboys spray. I'd tried so many other things (sprays, wipes, creams etc) and nothing comes close to the finish you get from the Poorboys. It's safe enough for the leather as well, so you can pretty much just cover your entire interior in it and it'll come out looking beautiful.
  10. By design the rotary engine will be a hell of a lot smoother as it rotates in itself rather than has things jumping up and down internally, so that will account for a lot of the extra NVH you'll get. This is turn can deceive your ears into thinking the engine is louder than it actually is, but saying that the Zed's V6 isn't the last line in subtleness when booting it.
  11. Either a 997 C2S Gen2 or a C6 ragtop. Totally different ends of the scale but both very charismatic cars in their own right.
  12. That said, Tulisa is only fit until she opens her mouth and starts speaking. She makes Dappy sound like Stephen Fry.
  13. Why? I would never ever do that to a private seller but a main dealer is a different kettle of fish IMHO.
  14. It's Dappy I'm with Danny on this one, I quite like N-Dubz as well and not just 'cos I'd bang the snot out of the girl and I'm nigh-on 30 too. If you take the music for what it is, which is just a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously then it's actually pretty good. I saw them live at V this year and they were absolutely superb: Full of energy and with some quality backing musicians, so to write them off as chuff really isn't very fair.
  15. Agreed, and knickers go on last so you can rip them off and still have the awesomeness that is the stockings + belt left on for sneakytimes.
  16. If it's a 2003 car then it's got 276bhp. If it's a 2006 car with the nicer interior then it's got 296bhp.
  17. First time I took a Zed coupe out they just threw me the keys and left me to it, second time they had to come out with me as it was a roadster and that made all the difference apparently...
  18. A PlayStation first and foremost
  19. More than reasonable, glad you got it all sorted
  20. I've got a Panasonic system too! Small world and all that. Mine's an SA-PT850, which suits my needs for now but I'm going to have to get a proper setup soon as the TV is just so much better than the audio at the moment.
  21. This is another way of doing it (and indeed, is how I've got mine setup currently on my Sammy 7 series) if you don't have a decent enough surround system, but for £700 I'd be looking at something more high-end for better results. Agree with Fiddy about the Logitech remotes though, a mate of mine has one and it's a beautiful piece of kit. That said, it's attached to £15K worth of audio & visual equipment so it wanted to be pretty good!
  22. By being very polite. Honestly, they're completely in the wrong to charge you much more than a couple of hours labour for this, so if they give you a bill for £200+ then I'd simply say that you don't feel you should, and what would they do if they were in your shoes? Truth is they sound like a decent place anyway if they were going to start chasing Nissan for you as you're only just out of warranty, so just be polite to them and I'm sure they'll do the right thing.
