  1. This, a million times this. Guys, you cannot compare data between dynos done in different places on different days by different operators as there's too many variables. It's irrelevant if the RST dyno over reads or not, as it will still give you the true bump in power between the first run done before the map and the run done after.

    K1 Owners

No vibrations at all with mine, or at least none that you can hear over the exhaust anyway.
  3. It does make a difference, yes. Not a huge one, but in lower gears you can get more slipping from the tyres amongst other issues, hence most dyno runs are done in 4th gear. Tbh as Rich said a dyno is only worthwhile as a comparison on one particular day as weather conditions alter readings a lot, and comparing between dynos is pointless. If the car feels right, and the graphs look okay then it's better just to ignore the numbers up to a point.
  4. Third Megan one looks like a torque mount to me so should do the same job as one of the many engine damper bars available, but better.
  5. Upgrade? Pretty sure you mean downgrade to a 14 year old Toyota ;) I jest, looks nice enough but not my cup of tea. Best of luck with the sale and hope to see you in a Zed soon!
  6. Hmmm they shouldn't be that bad, have/did you try altering your tyre pressures to cope with the change in sidewall over the RE040s? Dropping a couple of psi at the front or raising the rear should cure this.
  7. We're just too nice Tell you what, chuck my extra to the club as a donation, wouldn't have got such a bargain if it didn't exist. Either that or go treat yourself to some beer for a job well done!
  8. I'll be there with the MR2-ROC, I'll have to pop over and say hello.
  9. For £200, you can borrow them for as long as you like
  10. I've driven my '06 roadster back-to-back with an '07 coupe and there's two halves of naff all in the performance really, but the extra 500rpm is very nice to have. If you've got the cash then go for it, otherwise save yourself a couple of grand. I did
  11. I've still got that set of OEM wheels available if you wanted to get it done Rich
  12. It's fine as transport/lugging builders stuff around, but if you're a petrolhead you'd have to be mad to consider one as your only car
  13. £2300?!?! I wouldn't even bother owning a Zed if the insurance is that much, it's a great car but that's just stupid.
  14. I use the Gendan EngineCheck software via laptop, fantastic piece of kit and highly recommended.
  15. Tried your local Nissan dealer? They're about £14 from memory.
  16. Which website? All you need to know is here
  17. He didn't specify which Sunday
  18. I had to splice at least 3 (from memory) wires in when I installed my Alpine unit, did you do this?. What make of unit are you installing, and what leads did you buy?

    Misting!

Turn the fan selector dial to floor, that'll close the vents and stop the temperature difference between the outside air and the internal air misting the screen up. Either that or put the temp dial round to hot or pop the ac on az has been said.
  20. Sometimes I think people should be made to sit some kind of basic test before driving a car, and that maybe cars should come with instructions that people should read. Oh wait...
  21. Possibly leant on the window whilst fixing the screen, so it's thrown the mechanism out of sync? A quick reset should sort that out, and possibly the wind noise too I suspect.
  22. As per the title, really. I'm going to be removing my K1 shortly and going back to stock so I can do more trackdays and happened to mention this to my brother, who said he'd be interested in buying the exhaust off me. Am I right in saying that the Y-pipe is not interchangeable between the DE and HR engined cars, but that from the mid-pipe back any exhaust (including the K1) will fit?
  23. They normally have a chase car in situations like that, so even at 80mph on the speedo I think you'd have been okay. If it worried you that much that you'd been caught though then maybe it's worth just doing the speed limit from now on? It's really not worth it on a dual carriageway, as you'll be so angry at yourself for getting points when you weren't actually getting that much out of it. Now if you were playing tag with an Exige/GTR/LP640 down some fantastic country roads on a summer's evening then it might be worth it...
