Maser 4200. The 3200 is hideous in terms of both keeping the thing on the road and how often it breaks, but the 4200 has the very few of these issues. If you're considering the 3200, then you have to consider the 4200. That said, a decent 996 C2S is going to be the best drive.

Actually, a trackday is the best time to turn off the TCS, especially if it's raining. As long as you're mindful of other cars and not driving like a complete tit, you can push it and spin out in pretty much complete safety: After all, you could never do that on the roads and how else are you going to get a feeling of what to do when everything goes wrong? Whenever I get a new car on a trackday the one of the first things I try and do is overcook it and spin on purpose, just to see how the car feels and reacts.

Removing the spare will cause the a weight shift to the front of the car, meaning oversteer is more likely so you might want to put some weight in there to compensate, or perhaps alter your tyre pressures. A spare is a spare is a spare, it's got the same rolling radius as your 20" tyres (or should do anyway) and will allow you to drive at 50mph to get you home in case of a puncture. Why would you want to remove it? Bear in mind in that case you'd put the spare on the front and put a front wheel on the back.

Very, very nice wheels, but (*ducks*) they really don't suit the colour of your car IMHO, the silver is just too bland for something so shiny. Needs (and I can't believe I'm saying this!) a huge bodykit and/or a different colour. Black would work, or temper orange, or even azure blue. Red might be doable just too. Each to their own though, love the picture-story!

Personally I'd buy the newer car every time if you can afford it. If you buy one with all the mods done you'll save money but then have nothing left to call your own or take enjoyment from modding.

Don't ever time yourself on track, it invalidates the TDO insurance. Always keep an eye in your mirrors for faster traffic, and don't let the red mist descend if something crappy is quicker than you. Above all else though, enjoy yourself and seeing what the car can do

Having used it myself in at least 15 mk3 MR2s over the years in direct comparison to the Dynamat I used in mine, it's easily as good and nowhere near messy. How can it be, it's just adhesive tape?

Or get yourself some lead flashing tape, about £5 for a huge roll. Lasts forever, much cheaper than dynamat et al and just as good.

It was TG back in the day when it used to be good and it was Hammond in a Caterham IIRC with 1L of fuel. Well remembered though, sir! Honestly though, I was so disappointed when I found out that I'd only gained a poxy 2MPG by driving dull. I really thought it might be worth my while driving like that all the time, especially with a diesel truck that shouldn't be fun in the first place, but t'was not to be.
