  1. Overtaking on the right Bad habit to teach people on track, even if it's your own day. Why change from what everyone else in the world does? That said, seemed pretty good instruction to me and it doesn't look like they limited the car at all. Do you know if any on the day were limited? How much were the 4 laps, and did the price change on what car you drove?
  2. In that case run with it all the way to court. Sure, they'll probably get you on the mis-spacing, but then they could do that anyway and you won't be any worse off than you are now (remember, they'll have to issue a separate ticket for that offence which they can't mention in court in relation to the current 'offence'). Honestly, don't pay up and don't bother going down the station, take it all the way and wait for the look on his face when the judge/magistrate/sheriff/whatever they have in Scotland rips him a new one for being a complete idiot.
  3. Actually, that depends on what he's doing you for. If it's just the size then argue it, if it's a more generic 'plate that doesn't fit within the law' then you'll have to pay it as you've got illegal representation of letters/numbers on it.
  4. If you have the law on your side (and you do), then argue the ticket. Let it go to court and watch them throw it out because the officer in question hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
  5. I think it's the wing mirrors that don't really work. While it's not to my particular taste, the rest of it doesn't look that bad.
  6. Tbh I wouldn't consider running a 32bit OS anymore these days as all the niggles of when they first came out have pretty much been eradicated with Vista and Win7. Certainly I've had no troubles over the last few years Also Acer laptops are ace (excuse the pun!), I've had about 10 off them for work and personal use in the last few years and I'll happily go there again.
  7. I set mine for the redline but that's purely because I don't want it flashing during normal driving. As Greekman said, it's too small and unnoticeable to be anything other than a bit of a gimmick. Shame, really.
  8. Clio has far more personality than the other two combined. M3 is a more rounded and accomplished drive.
  9. You know that mixing tyres is a bad idea, right?
  10. Just me with my very black sense of humour that found some of it quite funny then? Obviously the real life stuff not quite so humourous, but watching the acted-up stuff made me chuckle. So much of it was the pedestrians fault too for not looking when they cross the road properly. If that had been just a clip of the real life incidents then it might have hit home a bit more, but the over-the-top stuff just doesn't work with me. Probably not a very popular view and I expect to be slated for it, but there you go.
  11. Carbon fibre binacle cover for the main dash cluster. I thought it would cover the whole thing, not just sit on the top of it pikey-style.
  12. Clicky clicky (Audio is probably NSFW)
  13. At least it's not chavvy like the Zed! Not a particularly involving drive, but solidly built and still a good looking car. Power is easy to get out of them if that's your thing.
  14. Well, I guess we know how much power the facelifted 370Z is going to be putting out now at least.
  15. Try just turning the D1 off. It's more of a hindrance than anything else on track
  16. Pretty sure it was a 3.5, certainly it had the newer interior. I wanted it to be so nimble, and was a bit gutted when it wasn't. We ended up with a mint '05 MR2 instead which Jo is happy enough with until she gets old enough for sensible insurance on an Impreza.
  17. Funnily enough you're not the first person to suggest it might have been a bit dodgy in that respect. It was a brand-new demo car from a main dealer so I would hope that it was set up to OEM specs, which if true really isn't good enough at all.
  18. The thread was removed due to breaking our trader policy, and due to the reaction from the OP it won't be returning anytime soon.
  19. No way what? A stock E46 isn't quicker than a stock Zed, assuming same driver & conditions? Hate to break it to you, but it's a fair bit quicker.
  20. Yup, but it won't make much of a difference really. Manual or SMG? An M3 is quicker full stop than a Zed in a straight line or on track, but then it costs more so fair enough really. DC5 will be hamstrung by FWD for straight line launches, will be good fun on country lanes though. Round track it'll still be the slowest, mind.
  21. I drove the mk3 MX-5 2.0L Sport at the end of last year and hated it. The interior was lovely and it was obviously well screwed together, but the engine made an awful noise and the steering was just vile: It felt like I was more trying to guide it via charades than a direct link between the steering wheel and the front wheels, it was that vague. I so wanted to love it but it had no soul IMHO. I think you'd hate it after the MR2 Stan, although as a GT car it's certainly preferable if you're not going to drive it hard. A mk2 MX-5, however...
