I would disagree with that. It's not a safety device, it's a failsafe for when you're driving beyond either your own or the car's limit. Cars have been around for 100 years, many with more power, worse brakes and floppier chassis than on the Zed, yet people drove those okay without the need for nannying traction control devices. It's one thing to have them on a 550bhp Ferrari which is designed to work with them to increase your speed, it's another to say they're needed on a 1.5 ton front-engined car with only 300bhp. I know you didn't exactly say that, but it's a common reaction across the board sometimes.

Alonso is an utter c*ck. Hamilton needs to learn that when you've got another 45mins of the race to go, you don't need to take silly risks. Webber needs to push on from this point if he really wants the title, and I'd love to see him do it now that Lewis is so far behind.

Never seen the point of that tbh, as it's usually the members with the highest post counts (and hence with the greatest knowledge) that have the most 'thanks' anyway, which kinda does away with the whole point of it.

Ladies and Gents, It's my sad duty to announce that one of our members, ian.lewkowicz, passed away in a car accident yesterday evening whilst driving his 350Z on the A500 at the age of just 26 (BBC News story). This sad news has been passed to me by Chris, one of Ian's closest friends who has asked that I put this thread up to let everyone know what has happened. I'm sure that you'll all join me in passing our sincere condolences to Ian's friends and family at what must be a horrible time for all. Whilst Ian only joined this forum in February this year, he has contributed to the whole forum and threw himself in with great enthusiasm into the club, and met a good few of us at meets. Chris has said that he will print out this thread and give it to Ian's parents, so please feel free to post your messages of condolence on here. I think I speak for all of us here when I say that it's such a shame to lose any one in life, let alone a fellow Zed owner. RIP Ian.
