  1. But the guy can only compare with what he's got experience of, which happens to be a TVR and a BMW. Given that the 370Z is a cross between the two, I still say it's a fair write up.
  2. Michelin Pilot Sport 2 or Bridgestone RE050A. Best for water clearing bar none.
  3. Funny, most car journos can do it in a couple of hours. Did you drive your car for longer than a week before you decided to buy it then?

    HELP please

Remove the plastic surround (just pull the bit nearest the handbrake, it'll come up), lock a set of mole grips round the shaft, and then pop a towel round the gear knob and get a big set of grips on it, the twist like buggery! You won't damage anything that way, promise.

    UpRev insurance

Will they ever find out about the remap? Probably not. Is it worth £12K (or whatever your car is worth) to take that chance? Definitely not. Change insurer next renewal, there are companies out there that don't care about things like that.
  7. Sorry, was referring to a few other forums with the same feature set and including the , etc, have used the text versions since the dawn of time and have just gotten used to doing it that way over the years.

  9. IMG and URL now available in fast reply. Oh I know, I still find it quicker to type them out than fish around for them using the mouse.
  10. You mean a Mk2 Rev3 or Mk3? Rev 3, mk3 was convertible only.
  11. I read that bit yesterday and found myself agreeing with just about everything the guy said. He's got it spot-on IMHO. The comparisons to the TT and Celica are fair as they're both 2+2 coupes and the strict 2-seater 370Z dwarfs them: Note he's talking about size there and nothing else. The roofline doesn't have a lot of clearance. There's a fair amount of road noise, which is why everyone wants to fit aftermarket exhausts so you hear the engine rather than the tyre roar. Assuming that the gear ratios aren't remarkably different from the 350, then you do get caught between gears at the top of 2nd, I had that issue many a time with mine. It is thirsty, and there are better cars (I use that term loosely as it depends on what you want from a vehicle) if you're prepared to take a one or two year old model instead of brand new. Does any of that make the 370Z a bad car? No, of course not, but the guy can only compare with he's used to and for the most part it's a very fair comparison.
  12. +millionty I've even got the tags mapped to separate keys on my G11 keyboard at home
  13. Running tyres outside of the manufacturers spec with regards to wheel width is both dangerous and stupid. By all means do it on a spare set of wheels you take with you and swap over at the point of parking when at a show (although I will laugh at you because it looks totally awful), but don't run them on the roads. As always, check the tyre manufacturers website for what size wheels for your chosen tyres.
  14. £15 from Nissan for a replacement key. Take car in, ask them to check what one you have (there's about 7 IIRC) and they'll give you the correct code with which to order one.
  15. This. A million times this.
  16. Actually, assuming they're accurate then for temporary track use they're actually a really good idea.
  17. All the cool kids are binning their Zeds for 911s these days anyway
  18. DMS would be my choice in Kent as well. Dixon's a great guy, he'll look after you.
  19. I've got a complete Alpine wiring loom with steering wheel controls for Bose for sale if you're interested /blatant_pimping
  20. Final few bits left, can't believe the side steps and strut bar are still there! Come on folks, I promise not to be insulted by any offers, try your luck!
  21. I do indeed Greg, I'll drop you a PM Just added some rear camber/toe arms as well. Guys this stuff absolutely needs to go, and as such I'm now looking for OFFERS ON EVERYTHING! Shoot me a PM, you may find yourself a bargain...
  22. I just fancied a change for the most part, although if the paddle shift steering wheel wasn't available then I would definitely gone for the manual option as I hate the silly buttons. Given that the dual-clutch 'boxes are going to become the only option on sports cars before too long to keep emissions down, I wanted to jump before I was pushed and had no say over the choice, plus the PDK 'box is as good as any out there. I've also got a degenerative back problem that gets worse through left leg use, and while it's not a huge problem on a long run it's starting to play me up when poodling through traffic, so having an auto option is proving a godsend (not that I've really had much chance to use it yet). I fully expect to leave the car in auto mode for 90% of the time, however when the mood takes me I shall flick it into manual and it'll be like a different car. Plus having paddles is like being in a race car, and there is nothing cooler than that!
  23. Trust me, the bracing was like night and day and as I drove the car for a few miles after I removed it all the difference definitely wasn't me going mad. I expected to feel quite a difference, but even I wasn't prepared for it to be quite that much. As for pics, I never actually took any but the bracing off my car is on its way to its new owner shortly, maybe they'll post some pics up
