  1. Phew thanks greekman, i was getting a little carried away... lol.. And dont worry, I confuse myself on a daily basis.. The TTS just wouldnt suite the track imo. Its steering feel is numb, and the handling is very floaty. I love the car for what it does, but I want some RWD car control. Nothing beats turning in those front wheels and putting power on. Understeer is a horrible feature of the TTS, much worse than the R32 which suprised me. Plus i couldnt let anything happen to the TTS as its the most expensive car ive owned. BUMP, Back down to earth!! Soooo I will be keeping the 350z relatively stock, and it will get to a track about 2/3 times a year.... I want to keep it on the road so no slicks or stripped interior... I didnt get the 350z just for a track toy, I got it for some RWD action and a car me and the mrs can enjoy. Ultimately if the 350 shows the TT up.. it will be bye bye Audi, although im a bit of a DSG slut and have found myself only looking at autos recently!!! Hopefully the 350z will show me the error of my ways. lol Ive definately been hit with new car giddiness!! ha..
  2. Awwww i wish!!! Ive looked at GTRs for a while now but unfortuanately i couldnt even begin to afford one.... The runnings costs, insurance and service intervals put me off.. Dont get me wrong, its an EPIC car. But i wouldnt want one out of warranty thats for sure.. My latest thoughts are swaping the other halfs Abarth 500 with the 350z, and buying an older import so i can really go mental with it.... Im sure once she see has a go in the 350 she will be game... Its only taken me 4 days to go from wanting a sensible track/road car, to wanting something mental i can trailer down to a track... The joys of the tinterwebs... lol Looks like the only do 2 trackdays a year at Aintree - I never knew this but will keep an eye out now! Do you know of any others coming up? Im not too sure, ive been out of the track loop for a while now. I had just always herd great things about Aintree. It did use to hold the Grand Prix... No @*!#!! And cheers for all the welcomes.. What a friendly bunch you all are
  3. I'm not sure I agree with you entirely though, many terrorist plots and other unmentionable things have been uncovered by police gaining evidence from Internet posting, I'm pretty certain that they scan Boy Racer forums to see if there's a street race lined up anywhere... Pete Im up for the police using any means nesercerry to nab criminals, terrorists and to curb anti social behaviour.. Its this stuff that blights an everyday joes life. Picking lines from forums to paint a picture of an individual i feel is unfair when it is taken out of context. Disgusting may be a hard word to use. But i know how i would feel if i was being made out to be a boy racer when ive just had a bit of banter on forums.. Its the 21st centuary and people just need to be carefull with what the vent off online... Weve gone right ....
  4. If my insurance tried to not pay out because of oem xenon lights id eat my right shoe, shortly followed by the left But your right man, its amazing how much the police and insurances use forums for information.. Like 10ps over on pistonheads... If youve never read this, its definately worth a look! .. One of the best things ever posted on a motoring forum imo.. http://prisondiary.co.uk/ Everyone here should read that and digest it thoroughly. Although I've never had anything more than a couple of very minor bumps, I realised many years ago a few things. Like overtaking a long line of cars by jumping past them one or two at a time gets you nowhere, how many times have you seen people doing this only to end up a few cars ahead of you at the next set of traffic lights. I also realised that I wasn't as good a driver as I thought I was...unfortunately only a few people are prepared to admit it, most drivers, especially young men vastly overestimate their driving skills (I know I did), quite often to their own cost not to mention the damage they inflict on other often innocent road users. You've seen what happened to this guy by making just one mistake....Thanks for posting the link, it's a real eye opener. Pete Its a very sobering read, And a very well written piece aswell. It really does show how you whole life can be turned upside down from one little jolly out. Ive been lucky too Pete and have never had a "bad" accident. I dont think its because of my driving skill, I like to think its because i havent really pushed my luck... But im sure thats what olly thought untill the eventfull day. Weve all made stupid decisions on the road, its just a case of which of us where lucky enough to come through the other end. The fact the police pulled his comments from the forum is disgusting in my opinion. We all write things out of context. I mean if i went to court would the insurance company exect me to eat my shoe because of the above comments! Silly of course, but thats the sort of thing they did to olly. Its easy to brag, and talk utter crap on forums, but my god how it can come back and bite you on your arse!! Even if its not true, its in black and white, and will be used against you in a court of law!! Also Olly didnt do this to scare people from driving and having fun... Its why we own these sorts of cars... Its a case of being carefull and courteous to other road users!! oh god... I sound like some sort of road saftey minister!! promise im not!! lol

  6. Cheers Matey... Unfortunately my pockets really arent that deep, so apart from a few little things the Z will stay standard this year.. Slicks and Pads are a definate though.. Are there any specific track days you guys go to?
  7. Ill make sure i forget to mention them
  8. Yeh im always carefull. Anything that gives you exta hp is always worth telling the insurance about.. If i remember correctly the 07+ Xenons give an extra 6bhp where as the 05-07 gave a humble 2bhp
  9. Sorted Guys.. Car was an import, but the owner fiiter 07+ Bi Xenons on the car, so i got myself a Bargain... woot... very rarely happens to me.... Await posts in a week f`ing and blinding about them not fitting now.. ha ha..
  10. I havent bought them as of yet so no problems there. And i dont have any front headlights at the moment so any are an improvment.. lol! Im sure Xenons where a option on the earlier cars. Not sure about the 08. I know they will fit, its mainly the connections.. Where the Xenons an option on the 08 car?
  11. Hi Yall... Apologies for a barage of Whats this.. Whats that questions, but finding the parts for my z is like a real life wheres wally! Just sourced a pair of Xenon Headlights from an 05 car. What should i know? Are there any special things id need to fit them? Or are they the same connections as the std lights? Will the 05 xenons fit an 08 car? Im unsure if mine origially had xenons..
  12. Welcome along. The Zeds are fun to track out of the box but what I found works best for a track set-up is (in no particular order) - Coilovers (I run Teins), uprated ARBs (I use Nismo), Diff (I've a Kaaz), trackday tyres on lightweight rims (I like the R888s), brakes (standard brembos are ok but the addition of something like Performance friction discs and uprated pads are most useful). If you're still feeling flush and you're looking for more power theres always FI be it a turbo or Supercharger (I run a Vortech SC at 420bhp) - theres plenty of build threads on here which will give you some ideas. My own personal opinion is that if you are running a stock block then SC is the way to go and if your block is built then a turbo is your only man. Obvious additions to the FI build would be an oil/PS cooler and perhaps a diff oil cooler as well - things will get hot on track. Last and not least loose as much weight as you can (from the car and I suppose the driver too). Loose the junk in your trunk - spare wheel, tools etc. The standard seats are very heavy ( I'd like to loose mine at some stage for a more supportive & lighter seat) and if you were really intent on being a track day warrior then you could loose some of the multiple airbags, air con, ICE etc and fit a roll cage - cut off switch and add a fire extinguisher. I think thats enough of a shopping list to be getting on with. Yikes!!! Alll that got me very excited, if not slightly scared for my ever decreasing bank balance!! Ill be leaving the car pretty much standard to be honest. As much as i would love to really pull it to pieces and make it a full track toy, I just cant afford too really. Ill be sure to put a post up before my first trip down to oulton. Cheers for the advise folks
  13. Cheers folks.. Im up in Southport, which is on the Northwest coast. So Oulton Park is the nearest full track, although i believe Aintree is a hidden gem. Any tips for getting the Zed ready for the track? Heres a pic of the TTS. As much as love the feeling of New, and allll that leather.. Its just not that fun to drive...
  14. He He, Yep... It seems to get longer everytime i type it out.. Yeh the headlamps are looking pricey, but will try the bay for those.... To be honest, its just a joy buying car parts again. Ive missed the tinker man in me!!
  15. Its a Pearlescent White Colour. Although the colour isnt really an issue as i can get them sprayed relatively cheaply. Will drop zman a message, he seems like the man
