  1. And another update! A couple of price reductions as well as the addition of the droplinks which I'd forgotten about!
  2. Work out what the biggest expenses are (ie engine and gearbox), work out if you can afford to replace them if needs be even if you have to drop the cost on a credit card as a temporary measure, and also work out what the most common issues are and how much it would cost to fix them yourself. Personally I don't think it's worth it on a Zed, but it's a must-have on something like a Porsche where part costs and labour rates are daft money.
  3. Updated again with some new items I found after clearing my garage out! Thanks again to everyone I've dealt with so far, you'll all be pleased to know that everything is off the car now and I will post them this coming week.

    MOT

It could damage the diff, not it definitely will. If you get no noises or random drivetrain shunting then I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Besides, the MOT maching flags up that it shouldn't be done and so the odds of the tester risking damaging a vehicle just to prove the machine wrong are tiny.
  5. Correct. You also don't blip on the upshift unless you hate your clutch, and if you're doing that then you might as well flat shift IMHO.
  6. X5 is a brilliant car that makes a lot of sense. X6 is just a pointless marketing exercise. Ann Widdecombe is a beast. Vanessa Feltz is a beast also. I'd still rather have those beasts than an X6.
  7. Thanks for the vote of confidence there Stew
  8. Ummm, anyone know how good 911s are in the snow? *hugs Ford Ranger with knobbly tyres*
  9. That is beautiful, congrats on your new toy!
  10. If you can, you really should. They are so much better than the Falkens and should become the tyre to buy on here if on a budget really. Not full of outright grip, but so very communicative.
  11. Nope, it's 7 years IIRC, and even then they can keep selling the debt on and on so it can last forever. I really wouldn't panic though. As has been said, do the house move before even entertaining talking to these guys.
  12. This. A million times this. Or the equally-pointless X1.
  13. Just call your insurance company, they should deal with this. Failing that check your house insurance, it often includes legal cover for stuff like this. FWIW I wouldn't worry too much, if anything you have a bigger claim against the other insurer for not settling the claim in your favour.
  14. Ooh you cynical old sod, you! Although now you mention it I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.
  15. Saw that on the news this morning, utterly brilliant idea. Scarily addictive, too...
  16. bloody chavs and your sound systems innit
  17. It won't be too bad, I'm sharing the cost of a Caterham hire for the entire day as well so I can just do a few gentle laps to get used to the weight distribution and then go crazy bonkers in the R300! Funnily enough, when I bought the VXR220 I had a track day within a few weeks of picking it up. Span the car about 4 times as I wasn't used to it at all, but learnt a lot from the day.
  18. Not picking the car up until Tuesday now, still waiting for the bloody steering wheel to turn up Ah well, one of those things I guess, and as long as I get it before I go to Anglesey for a trackday on the 30th I can't really complain too much.
  19. No. They're pikey budget tyres, whereas the 452s are just budget on the Zed.
  20. First post updated with sold items now removed for ease of browsing. If there's something there you fancy make me an offer, you never know your luck...!
  21. Thanks guys I spent some hours yesterday stripping The Zed, and it was almost heartbreaking to do so. I still love the car, and even though it's (mostly) back to stock now it still feels like mine. I was soooo tempted to take it for one last spin last night and yet I know that's just tempting a whole bunch of fate I don't want, and so I know now the final drive will be the long one to Colchester to swap it over for the Porker. It's horrible when you get to a point with a car when it's just right and there's not really any more you can do with it, and that was the point I'd hit with mine. I'm sure they'll remove the 350Z-UK stickers I'm going to leave on it, but that's not going to stop me leaving notes in the manual and secret ones around the car dropping large hints about this place as it'd be great to not see the car disappear completely.
  22. The 452s have softer sidewalls than the 040s and as such will need a higher pressure in. Try adding 2psi all round, although I suspect you'll end up nearer 4psi before you're happy. The 35psi works fine for either 040s or 050s, anything else will usually need adjustment.
  23. Bugger, so close! It's an absolutely fantastic car, and the way it piles on the speed in 3rd whilst remaining utterly planted gives you so much confidence even on *spits* runflats, and yet I just didn't connect with it like I should have. It's sounds weird to say it but I genuinely loved the M3, and yet it left me cold. Very strange. I can see why people do buy them though, as they do everything so very well. It is indeed RWD, it's the C4 and C4S and Turbo that are 4WD. Luckily you can get both RE050As (on my car) and even better PS2s in N-spec, so there'll be no mixing or compromising of tyres for me!
