  1. Aye that was my idea mate - it does work as a temp solution - rub the crayon across the scratch and then using your finger to smooth it out - hides 90% of them!
  2. Some pictures of the scratches may be a good start so we can see how bad or not so bad it is?
  3. maybe you were abducted by aliens and you thought it was a white van you saw someone flash at or to you? I have seen X Files I know what's going on here.....
  4. Well in that case get a rare colour like night blue!
  5. Top man you wont regret it - they last longer than everyone thinks also!
  6. F***** bar****s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry to hear about that mate
  7. Car looks excellent Mike - I think Blackfire really sets off the blue/darker colours well - and so easy to wax on and wax off! You've done a good job there - where did you take the pics btw - was it Trafford Park by any chance? Did you use Poorboys or Blackfire on the Lucozade bottle btw?
  8. Indeed maybe consider a contrasting colour to the other leather panel otherwise it will just look a bit dull? Maybe think about emphasising it with a contrasting coloured stitching. Or the silver paint thing could be the way to go ala Sunset?
  9. Dont do it get a van like meand keep your Zed!
  10. Ah good choice especially track 10:03 - guitar instrumental particularly nice
  11. Would be nice in leather but again the issue is the thickness of the leather would make it tricky to get a good fit on the panel - but using a very thin like a bookbinding backing leather could solve that - but issue is the impact adhesive will probably want to melt the plastic moulding? Bleeding Nissan cheapskates!
  12. My door switch covers need sorting, scratched and worn but i don't want to go to the expense of carbon overlays. I noticed that Halfords sell the vinyl/plastic paint, and wondered if anyone has tried repainting their switch surrounds, and if so how did they turn out? Was thinking of experimenting and painting it silver to match the interior door levers. Any thoughts or suggestions on this and anything to be aware off would be handy to know. OOhh oooh I missed this?? Halfrauds sell the stuff do they?? I never venture into there ..... Who is it made by or is it own brand? Does it say - safe to spray on plastic? I am not 100% sure silver will look good on the doors - especially it is not entirely smooth as its a soft finish? But just check it does'nt melt plastic with the thinners ! Gold leaf may be a better option - hey you could really bling it up! Hey you could go retro and get some crinkle cut paint like on MG midgets!
  13. Cool - quite a few people on here in that part of the workd so they maybe able to advise you on a proper valet You want to try cleaning 2x Zeds and a Van! Your right best thing is to get to a few meets to get an idea of what you like and dont like - no rush get used to the cars shape etc

  15. Think I have a family of spiders living in my Bose 6 Cd unit and probably full of bumfluff! But like most people the Ipod and my trusty FM transmitter bring a large selection of tunes that I must update soon as I find myself listening to Radio Manchester for the traffic now as am so bored ! Bloc Party seems to keep cropping up on the shuffle mode amongst some Northern Soul (look it up younger viewers!)

  19. Hey some nice pictures and stories folks glad this thread is still going strong! Particularly love that old 78 Polo - mint! I saw a similar coloured Mk1 Golf locally a few years ago thinking it was looked after really well as it was pristine then I discovered it was the Golf Citi from South Africa where they still make them so it was brand new! What is it about early 90's and burgendy coloured cars eh? I had a Mk3 cavalier in the same colour! Hmm did that fiesta come with those blue seats from Ford ?? I think not Think they only made those Honda's in that colour green and nothing else - mate had the same one I think!! The Nissan looks cool btw - yet another roling road shot - these are getting common! Erm so you like MR2 Mk1's Ollie?? I am guessing there?? I love them - my mate still has his red one - he still hankers after a Mica Blue targa - but his is a boggo red one - its presently resting awaiting a slight freshen up on the paintwork but its mint and goes like stink! He and in particular that car got me into Jap stuff. I've never looked back ,glad I did'nt otherwise would'nt have found this cool group of internet weirdos I love wasting so much of my time with! Keep the pictures and stories rolling folks lot of new members on the forum recently get those Black and White Glass slides scanned in folks!
