  1. A glaze is usually an oil/polymer/silicone heavy liquid that is used to give a really deep wet/glossy look. They are great for hiding swirls and other defects, but dont typically offer any protection. I would guess (having not used a glaze before myself) that it should go polish > glaze > wax. Polish preps the surface removing swirls and other defects. Glaze hides whats left. Wax protects the surface from contaminants getting into the pain and ruining your hard work. I tend to think of glaze as more for show cars where you will have a very highly finished surface and use the glaze to make it look really glossy but it doesnt offer any protection (typically) so wouldnt want to just use glaze on a daily driver or weekend warrior.
  2. I'd imagine its very good, but I'm not paying £40/mo to watch 2 or 4 races, comes down to pay-per-view as I wont use any of the other channels. If it were free though ... (not that the beeb is, but we have to pay for that!)
  3. It needs to be to recoup their costs. Will have cost them a fortune and they're not making it back with current customers. They'll be wanting to take all the beeb customers who dont have Sky (like me). I'll be sticking to the highlights though. Quite looking forward to getting some weekends back TBH
  4. Great vid, nice assortment of metal there Aston
  5. Damn I missed a trick there
  6. Is that even the same car? The one on ebay has no pics of the acutal car and listed as Cat-D. The PH one the Op has posted is Cat-C, is listed abroad and seems to have the sellers trader "TARGET" plates on it suggesting the pics are geniune? Still stay well clear mind!
  7. We installed it in honour of Wasso - that should make up for it
  8. Cat-C - wonder what happened to it
  9. Pffft, free advertising!! Anyway you could make your own and they'd potentially look crap - so better they give out decent quality ones so at least the logo is right! You see RB plastered on everything these days, I assumed they gave them out by the crate
  10. It's a hard life eh? We're making do with a holiday in France that Frans not too bothered about and, errr, thats it! Passportes
  11. We'll have to make do with the Lake District and 10 days in Mauritius and Dubai
  12. The 370z with UpRev would though, especially when you put some corners in the way Nice write up, would be on my radar if I ever fancied having a family
  13. Must add a couple of things to the shopping list for may.... You can easily be removed from the list And we'll keep you desposit as non-refundable
  14. Should have told Amanda this before we booked the wedding in this country, so sounds wicked
  15. UpRev is the most reliable (read: it actually works), vs other generic mappers who say they can do it, but when given the chance actually cant. UpRev isnt the only route, but its by far the easiest way to allow someone to get the car live mapped and doesnt require soldering or aftermarket ECU.
  16. I know a great place not to far from you, you can come try it out in about 8 weeks None of this £100+/head crap either, good food and venue at a reasonable price. Helps having an event organiser as a fiancee (and shes only 10% over budget, and within contigency!) You didn't seriously think that the contingency wouldn't get used did you???? No I expected it to go into her contingency, but I tell her one value and save for another real value entirely. Just like when you need to go out at 7pm, you tell her she needs to be ready at 6:00-6:30pm We're now into the period where everyone needs paying and its already been save for, quite chuffed that non of it is going to be on the tick or credit card, and its too late to add anything else now. All paid for before the day Anything thats left from the real contingency at the end is a bonus for the honeymoon/car/etc

  18. Having worked with off-shore teams for the last few years, I've become quite adept at speaking to Indians now. What I learnt last time is call when I am at work, and if I cant get them understand, get one of the off-shore resources we currently have on-shore to do the translation
  19. They did when the missus damaged the roof of her Ibiza. They were pretty faultless TBH, set us up to take the car to the garage a few days after making the claim, got us a courtesy car which was pretty decent, and didnt have any sort of questioning, they just got the work done for us. I was very supprised. Same can be said when someone drove into my car while it was parked. Went through Admirals legal team and they got it all sorted pretty quickly. They also have follow-the-sun call centres, so you really can end up half way around the world depending on when you've called them. During the day it will be Wales, dinner time it will usually be Canada and any other time it will be India (which you should definately avoid!). I think the only people I would leave them for is a specialist broker if I needed something special on the insurance or some kind of setup that they couldnt cover. Its shocking how much money they are making, but competition just doesnt seem to be there in the market to drive the prices down
  20. The problem is they are very clever with it, and for me at least, still the cheapest out there. Love to take my business elsewhere, but I suspect they will be getting another years premium from me Off to buy some shares
  21. The scary thing is, if you dont know the car well or anything about flocking, you will assume that as the ad says it has airbags then the passenger one still works
