  1. Model: 2003 VQ35DE 276HP Mods: Plenum spacer, pop charger, Nismo exhaust Dyno: Dynodynamics (Eurospec2000, Guildford) BHP: 240WHP / 280BHP@fly Torque: 230ftlb
  2. Ah yes, I meant to add that you should get the rev limit raised to 7200rpm when you have the UpRev map done! I think the losing time thing is more in terms of quarter miles times though due to the extra gear change, which I'm not really bothered about. The increased in gear acceleration should make real world driving much more fun though! Can all models be safely raised to 7200RPM? If so thats very intersting for the older 276HP owners
  3. Lovely wheels, all the best with the sale
  4. Results thread here - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24431&p=355185 Result chat thread here - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=26040
  5. Dyno results chat here Please put dyno charts, results, pics and vids here in the dedicated thread- viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24431&p=355185 -------------------------------- Tidied the original thread at Ians request. Keep chat in here and post results in the other thread. Sorry to those who posted chat in the other thread, I tried to split if but lost the posts
  6. No, this was the first time it's been on a rolling road. As I said, the figures themselves are fairly meaningless to me (290 on a 276 car to start with looks a little optimistic), but it's the difference driving it that matters - and it is a LOT better. I don't subscribe to the "I've got to have 300 bhp" line - it's how the car responds that matters more. Chris'I, which thread should I post the graphs in? Heres the thread - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24431 As for the numbers, it does appear to be a little optimistic, but generally DynoDynamics dynos are held in very high regard for giving realistic numbers. They seem to put a lot of effort into making sure their dynos give consistent figures. I think Ben had his Evo dyno'd on a few and they all came out with what he expected (bar one when his boost controller reset itself, but even then it returned the expected number when you took that into account!)
  7. Plenum spacer at least, he mentions that in his post
  8. I'll ask Amanda what we are doing for this as its on my birthday
  9. Updated title for newest date. I should be able to make it
  10. Good results really. As you say its more about the shift in torque than the peak power. Remember to post your results up in the dyno thread (actual charts) so we have a record
  11. Going to tell us your results then matey?
  12. Basically, the higher the RON rating, the better controlled the burning of the petrol. This means that the ECU can be more exact about when to ignite the fuel to get the best (cleanest) possible burn. This didnt use to make that much difference before VVT, but now the engines can adapt to the fuel you give it and detect knock and adapt to that, the higher the octane the cleaner the burn. The cleaner the burn the better MPG you will get. The car is natively (ie in Japan) desgined and mapped for something like 100RON. The closest we originally had over here was 98RON so thats what they recommend. It will adapt to higher RON though, so 99+ is the best. 95RON means it has to retard the timing which gives a worse burn and lower MPG. This is all in very small numbers of course, but when I tested it, Tesco 99RON gave me more MPG than the extra cost per mile over 95RON. Now apart from the RON rating, other big brands (Shell. BP etc) put in additives. These help clean the engine and reduce deposits of crap in the engine. In theory this should also help the car run smoother and cleaner. In short, if you can get Tesco 99RON, do it. If not, then try optimax etc and see which is best for you
  13. + 1. Or maybe drive a bit more slowly according to the conditions. +2 - did you understeer or oversteer into the kerb then? Eitherway pushing too hard for the conditions. Zed needs to be tippy toed around in the wet until you understand how it handles. On the last airfield day I did, the missus was amazed at the loss of traction in the wet, really opened her eyes as to how many people go far to quick when its raining.
  14. Yeah watch out you dirty basterwards! Dirty habit and I have seen first hand what it can do I agree with Stew WRT riding and having tabs flicked at you. Even if you flinch to try and avoid it, is enough to cause an accident and you'd have no comeback to prove they did it.
  15. Might add him on LinkedIn if he knows everyone on there, wont take me long to get a new job
  16. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Service:Index Says it works for some, but not for others. Give it a go. I think some of the others had a procedure that worked when they did the interior swap.
  17. :bye: Hopefully you will return to the Zed someday soon
  18. Yes, most detaillers will do it at your location. There are lots about, dont know anyone in your specific area though. Sure someone will be along with a recommendation or check out http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/
  19. Heres a nice route (better on a bike ) around Basingstoke http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sourc ... 17294&z=11
  20. I shall see what the social sec has booked in and report back
  21. Thats quite cheap given Nissan want about £1k for a single Rays alloy!
  22. Sorry, somehow missed half the posts there (teach me for reading it and replying later!), if Envy are close then head up to them, you can badger them into free fiiting and food
  23. Speak to Gary@gt-art and see what he says. Should only be an hours labour, so at my local garage's rates about £50
  24. good in the dry, shite in the wet basically +1 - in fact on the track they are better than many of the tyres recommended here. But not many people drive their car mainly in the dry and on a track, and as wet weather performance is so pants, they can be quite dangerous
