  1. What HP does your M3 put out? 370z is known to run very very rich and adding a few breathing bolt ons (intake and exhuast) has seen an increase of 20+HP in the States, putting it near 350HP As for 350z vs 370z, I'll let you know around March time hopefully Yep beavis is right, 343bhp. When BMW brought out the new M3 they jumped straight up from 343 to 400+, an increase of nearly 60 bhp is going to be very noticeable and makes it very attractive to E46 owners etc. I just feel that going from 313 to 329 to not exactly gonna have hordes of 350z owners dying to get into one. I appreciate its a more modern car and things like the rev matching gubbins and it being lighter and smaller will probably make more of an effect on performance but as they say, BHP sells cars......i think that the 370 is probably more attractive to non 350z owners as I can't get my head round why anyone would pay £15-£20k plus their zed for a 370z??? Yup you're right, its totally irrational to want to upgrade from a newer 350z to a 370z (ie 309BHP to 320BHP), and I dont think they will get many doing that. Older 350z, like mine, 280BHP to 330BHP, to easily ~350BHP with just an intake, that looks a whole load more attractive. If I had an 07+ 350z, it would be very hard to justify the jump. Everyone I have spoken to about the 370z says it drives much better than a 350z and the interior is much much better too. As you say, most customers will be non 350z owners, people who were looking at Porsche for example, with a few older 350z owners in for it too. All dealers I have spoken to about it say they have had quite a few 350z PX against them, but you take that with a pinch of salt when they are after your business. As for the GTR, we all know its the running costs that prices most of us out of getting one

  3. Powder coat every time. I had mine wet sprayed first and they were crap. Didnt stand up to anything. Been powder coated twice now and no problems what so ever. Been on track a few times with them. I hear they should make sure to keep it under 200C when baking them and it should be ok
  4. Heres to hoping they forget to up the Flat Rate tax scheme for us freelancers ..... as if the theiving scumbags will forget though

    Re-map

Deleted double post Mark Isnt it the case that if you dont have the RAM, you can dump it and send it off? In which case it would be two visits to you, one to dump and one to flash, but it can still be done?
  6. Aye the original and rev-up engines have the most cack dipstick in the world. As Alex says, leave it a few hours or overnight and you should be able to get a good reading, and also make sure its on the flat. When the engine is at all warm to the touch, its very difficult to get a good consistent reading
  7. 1000% better?!?!?!?!?! And your car has been round the track how many times? Or you started using it now show season is over? Calm down, calm down! :wiggle: I beleive Bennet's have had a damn good ragging so he is best placed to give an unbiased opinion
  8. No point putting Bose in then trying to shoehorn a new HU in there. Just get a new HU, speakers and amp all seperately. Bose doesnt play too nice with other makes, you're better off just doing a full stand alone install. No idea how much you'd need to swap for the Bose or if the loom is there. The bits are all over the car, so I doubt the loom is there tbh I beleive the steering wheel is now gone, eh Coops
  9. As per PM mate, the front could be a little close to call with the brakes given the offset. I cant remember the offset of my wheels to hand, but I think they are ET25 with similar width. Rays are 8"/ET30 front and 8.5"/ET33 rear for reference so that *I think* would leave your proposed front wheels close to the same stance as the Rays, but slightly further out of the wheel arch as the wheel is 0.5" wider but the offset has moved it 5mm in.
  10. Speak to CS (Mitz) or Envy on here. I'm sure they will be along shortly to give you the options, suffice to say it will be considerably cheaper than Nissan!
  11. PM CS matey, he deals with K-sport and will give you the low down on the pads. I have heard rumours that the K-Sport pads are rebranded DS2500, but dont know for sure. Mitz (CS) will put you straight
  12. Looks good chap, certainly captured the lines of the car
  13. I guess so, and we can only convert one person at a time, unless we instruct a class. It can be done. Yup, Amanda used to be the same, but she soon learnt. Now shes as OCD as me, checking out swirl marks in car dealership paint and pointing out to them it needs a good polish with a PC, which most of them dont understand
  14. Waiting for the New Year, but had to do some research as we drove right past the dealers, it would be rude not to, and they are the only one of 3-4 near me that have a demonstrator
  15. Yup, had to venture into Reading yesterday to get the missus parents some bits and it was a nightmare. As punishment, I made Amanda wait in the Nissan dealership while I took a 370z for a 45minute blast
  16. I've recently seen a product called FilterMag (clicky) being used quite a lot by the 370z boys in the States. Does a similar thing to a magnetic sump plug, but a lot stronger and covers a bigger area. My guess is it does a hell of a lot of a better job than the sump plug as it covers a larger surface area and is exposed to more oil flow. Someone give it a try and see if it works (http://www.filtermag.co.uk/ seem to sell them, but I cant vouch for them as a retailler)

    100,000 miles

Nice to hear from you Doc, glad everything mechanical is still going strong
  18. Its fairly well known that the Stones are not well suited for climate here with daily driving. In the wet they are pretty aweful. I will give them their dues, they are better on the limit that Proxes, by virtue they give more feedback, but they lack overall grip in the wet. In the dry however, especially when warm on a track, they are a cracking tyre and will stand up to more punishment than Proxes. To get the same performance as Proxes in the wet and Stones in the dry you have to be looking at something like PS2s. So for best comprimise most go for what they will use the most which is Proxes as they suit most daily driving conditions better than the Stones.
  19. Yup comes in very very handy. Use it quite a lot for Wales and Scotland trips when I can, if not driving up with Colin, then I dont get a chance with his de-tours
