  1. There's one reason, and one reason only, people drive a Z. It's cheaper than the competition.
  2. Very interesting video. But the only reason it is, is because it very nicely demonstrates just how much driver ability comes into it. The lambo driver was hamming it all over the shop. Back end squirming (4wd remember) and bad racing line, and then the straights came and it destroyed the Z. Yet the Z kept up over a lap... I take that back actually. It's not a nice demonstration. It's an incredible demonstration of driver skill over performance. These 2 cars are not even in the same continent, performance wise, yet he kept up. Something to bear in mind. Probably more for the yanks and the "I killed a 911" threads though...
  3. People saying no to no price difference on older cars...Just remember, it's a cascade effect. A 2012/2013 MY2011 370z currently selling at 28/29k is going to look pretty damn expensive next month. So they will be driven down fairly quickly i'd expect. Then, comparing those to overpriced 2011 cars, will mean they'll also be driven down, and on and ariston. Only way that might not happen is due to the total volume of z's out there being pretty low and/or stricter discount policies from the dealers on new cars being enforced, due to the lower cost of entry. So, really, I don't think it's wise to say either. If you're going to buy in 3/4 weeks, why not wait another couple of months to be sure? Sorry about the lack of paragraphs in this post, my return key doesn't work on this forum anymore!
  4. Looking at the used prices of 370s. I'm failing to see why people think they're doing so badly. 2009 model GTs going for 17k. Seems about bang on for a 3-4 year old car.
  5. I'd like to see some figures on that. Rather than just anecdotes, and statements like "the zed really likes it".
  6. Woman are actually much worse drivers than men.* It's just men cost more money, because we wipe out in style, not in a car park, into a lamppost! *Generally speaking of course, before I get nagged to death by women who like to whinge at men!** **Generally speaking..of course!
  7. Seeing the 370 was such a roaring success over here. I worry there's probably a not insignificant chance that it won't make it over here - A la Hyundai Genesis.
  8. seriously,no more power? Every man and his dog is dropping weight and adding power, are nissan that lazy, or is the engine that @*!#, that they can't stick an extra 20/30 bhp on there? I think 355 or so would be a great spot for the z to sit power wise.
  9. Wasn't it confirmed numerous times running low octane is perfectly fine for the engine? The ECU just adjusts and you may lose a few BHP. No Biggy.
  10. Cmon. The soft top Z is a bit gay. Total hairdresser town. Doesn't make it a bad car though.
  11. SO let me get this straight. You paid 24k and you've had the car a month. In that time you've doubled the mileage, added another owner to the logbook, ANND you're selling privately vs you buying from a dealer, annd you think it's worth only £500 less than what you paid. lol The fact you've gone from dealer to private alone will mean you lose 10%.
  12. What a bunch of bloody fanboys. It makes me sad. This is a NISSAN forum, and people are trotting out @*!# like "it's a renault, no way". Cmon people... Secondly, when your car doesn't match up to the competition, what's your only resort? Slag the brand, and tell everyone it will blow up and is ugly anyway. This is EXACTLY the sort of turd that gets levelled at us from Porsche owners, and we dismiss them as being ignorant snobs. Funny how the base nature comes out when threatened! Fact is, the megane whipped the 370 with more seats, more practicality, and FWD. Guys, drink a nice big cup of cement and harden the **** up. Don't start trying to needlessly bash the car because it's not what you have and doesn't justify your existence as a human being. To be honest though. I don't find this result suprising at all. Hot hatches always have been, and always will be, the poor mans sports car. They've had the performance of a GT, but cost much less. What you pay for in a car like a 370/z4/tt is the looks. The desirability factor. "Who cares if you have a golf R. It's like a boring shopping trolley golf but with side skirts" You pay a premium for the looks... If anything, this comparison works in the 370's favour, as back in the day of the 350, hot hatches cost 17k had potential for 280bhp and could match the 350 all the way. Now the price is almost the same! If you don't need the seats, why would you buy a hatchback over the Z??? Sorry for the rant everyone. I love the Z like all of us here , but I hate blinkered fanboism.
  13. R8 is beautiful car. Better looking and more imposing than it's big lambo brother the Gallardo. The V8 though, how does it compare to the z? Obviously it's faster, but by how much. I've heard reports of that engine under delivering badly on the RS4. To rub it in a bit more. You'll get spanked by a remapped TT-RS
  14. This sort of bullshit happens in every enthusiast industry. Thankfully waxes like that are rare. I've not seen more pseudo science and nonsense than I have with audiophiles though. That blows car detailing out the water. Oh, incidentally, I was browsing through and saw 3 micro fibre cloths for something like £2. I felt royally shafted for paying twice that for 1 from halfrauds. LESSON LEARNED!
  15. I found my to actually be pretty accurate. I know this is at odds to most peoples experience with the Z though. Just get it down to almost zero, and fill the car up to the brim. Then you can at least make an educated guess.
