Oh mate, that sucks. Make sure you get names and numbers of the others that had the same problem. If you can prove it was all because there was no grit then you should hopefully have a case.

Good good, all sorted. I recommend the PIAA ones if you can afford them, they are brill. In lashing rain you dont even need them as the water just beads off the window
-
If its anything like the PIAA ones, you get different fittings with them. You just need to measure the lengths. I'm sure they are about 20" and 18" or something like that, but best to measure them

I would say the interior of the Cayman is definately better, but a bit boring. The drive, well its much more specific than the Zed. Cant really describe it, but it just does what you tell it and does it instantly. I did find it a tad boring though, as you didnt really have to work for it which you do in the Zed. No doubt the paint will be far superior though

Not sure I will at this rate, they are terrible at arranging me one for the weekend!! Porsche would be more than happy to give me a car on the spot Just I know the forums wouldnt be as good as this one Would you really let the lack of a good forum put you off buying a superior car? Yes If a GTR would fit in my garage, then I could have a far superior car to the Zed, but alas it doesnt fit, and I wouldnt want to use one as a daily driver. I dont see the Cayman as £15k (more like £20k with optional extras) more superior tbh, its Nissans customer service which lets them down. TBH, Nissan GB have been great so far, but I have to do some jumping through hoops which is slowing it down - or rather the rubbish weather is

Just wanted to know yours and NS affilitation to the event(s). You could have just said that you are helping out with running a comp, sign up through FB, but you made it sound like you had no affiliation with it, which I think is not as it is Good luck with it all, it looks like it will be one hell of an event

Cool cheers mate, I will definately be considering the manual now

Thats pretty much it Stan, only worth it for certain things, and best not keep too much information on there in case of scams like this where I want to get your phone number!! Maybe if it were more professional I wouldnt worry I have very little info on my FB page, but I know other members may have everything. Last thing I want is for them to come back saying they signed up for it and now get spammed and called all the time because their info was passed on. All I'm looking for is for you to say you know the people that are running it, as you have alluded to on the other channel You really are wasted on this site you know, you should be a politician with the skills you have
-
We already pay tax on mileage, its call Fuel Duty Road tax should be the same for everyone, regardless of engine size or emissions, they are irrelevant to relation to the cost of upkeep of the roads
-
So remapping will be more like overclocking the voltage of the motor
-
You being for real?!?!?!?!?! I know, am going to come along and get people to join up to something thats not legit!!! And what "insurance" do you need?!??! Not saying you're doing it on purpose chap, just dont see why it needs access to all my FB info in their app that does nothing to sign up to it. If you can personally vouch for the developer of the app and the people running the comp then thats cool, but as details are tentative, I wouldnt want members on here signing up for something that can potentially take their personal details.

Cant wait to see it. Even if he isnt on form, he seems to thrive on the challenge, so will make excellent viewing to see him try. I hope Hamilton and Button are good enough to take it to him, I think in good cars and given their age advantage it should be good

That's exactly what has happen here' The side roads that haven't been gritted are just about impossible. I can't get any traction in the Zed even with just letting up the clutch with no throttle Exactly, it wasnt the snow, but that fact that we had some, it was compressed, froze, then we had more snow over the top of that. Gritters didnt do sod all to it. Just had it on the weather that heavy rain is heading this way and freezing temps too. Stew, it said -8C over night for you (-12 minimum in Scotland), and rain too, so suggest you are going nowhere tomorrow! Heavy rain just washes the grit away, so it will be just sheet ice

To sign up you need to allow access to their "app" on Facebook, but the app is just a blank page. Seems a bit dodgy to me, think we need more insurance that its legit before I go adding some random app to my facebook tbh.

Well little Zee is back on the drive - courtesy of a tow rope and Ben's (MAD7BOY) Evo - nice one mate Have a good vid of "drift parking" her back into the bay, but Amanda shot it on some stupid video mode so you cant see it properly and its 300MB so its too big. Will be staying there until the roads are completely clear, no more heading out when conditions are OK just in case they get worse again. Sounds like the worry now is rain that is going to freeze on the roads.
-
Maybe if we get snow down here more often people will get the idea, the problem is we see it so infrequently, people just dont get the idea. More great news today, freezing conditions and rain on the way. Welcome to Basingstoke Ice Rink Road - expect to see it on the news again tonight! I am staying at home today for obvious reasons

Great guide there, very comprehensive. Moved to Technical > Guides section

Will look good for sure. Maybe a Kinetix SSV to show it off (just speak to Alex about welding it up first )

Thanks for the explaination Dixon, that makes perfect sense Time for Chris to step up to the next pads

Was an absolute nightmare Stan, but the roads really werent that bad. Sure it was bad, but it was passable, as you can tell, I did it in the Zed with 275 wide rear tyres! Most of the slowdowns were caused by people revving the balls off their cars and getting stuck, so rather than wait to take a hill in one go, they would try and move a foot, stop, move a foot, stop, and funnily enough they got stuck! Pure impatients causing everyone to be slowed down. I was quite impressed how the Zed was handling compared to these muppets
-
Yeah gritters wouldnt have done sod all. All we needed was people to drive properly
-
Dont even get me started! 10hrs from Slough to home yesterday! I only got stuck in one place and that was because the camber forced the rear end over to the gutter on the outside lane of the A33 A quick push and we were off again. I did also drift all the way up the slip road off the M4, must have been a record for the longest ice drift! The problem was that 8 inches of snow fell in about 3hrs. Southerners just arent used to that. To make it worse everyone left work early which meant the gritters all got stuck in traffic 10hrs to do 30 miles in the end. Met Amanda at a pub on the way home and it took her 7hrs to do about 20 miles. It was very very surreal coming through Basingstoke at nearly 1am with no moving cars on the road or people about, just loads of abandoned cars, vans and lorries everywhere! My mum had to walk home from town as it was gridlocked and she was stuck waiting to get out of the multistory for 2hrs.

Supprised to hear that about the pads, I'm sure Dixon said his pads lasted ages, well above average, I remember his report from a recent endurance race and he said they were on the original pads at the end whereas everyone else had changed. Guess it could be down to how agressive you are with them. Be interested to hear what Dixon says about it.

Ultimax can not take as much abuse as Turbo Grooved. Sadly I know this first hand, neither are a real track disc, but Turbos hold up better IMO. I think Mitz suggests the same too, Ultimax for fast road, and Turbo Grooved for street and a bit of track
