  1. Its probably not that much like he drew it if you've seen many concept drawings, but there will certainly be a good part of it that looks similar
  2. Reading, like most of the south of England, is quite expensive due to labour rates, so I'd factor in a max of about £300 for a full correction detail and then you will be happy if it comes in less. Speak to Tim@Envy Valeting for exact costings
  3. Good call Arkwright, does my head in too
  4. Think the club need to put them on comission for the number of members they get from here Good work chaps
  5. Just remembered that after I had posted. 18s might be better handling for on the track, but they probalby weight as much as your Nismos anyway, so no real difference other than the Nismos must be wider.
  6. How on earth did you manage that?! I thought I had fairly high usage (40-50GB per month) as I stream loads of video through iPlayer HD, SeeSaw and TVCatchup, but 100GB in 2 weeks is impressive One word - pr0n - and lots of it
  7. Geometry/allignment is out by the sounds of it. My rears wear very evenly across the tread.
  8. Very nice Is that the same kind that Big Phil had for those that saw his?
  9. Servicing work can be done anywhere that uses the right parts that are equal to the manufacurers specs. Warrenty work just needs to be done at any Nissan dealer, so you can buy it one place and take it somewhere else - thats what I did with my last car, I bought it halfway across the country! Definately dont let them push you around. You know you are on the right track when the salesman gets his manager
  10. Infinity is Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) which means fibre optic connection from the exchange to your local cabinet, it still uses copper pair to the cabinet to your door. It does however change the connection over to an IP infrastructure
  11. Yes GAP insurance is usually a con - for example Nissan wanted £700 for me to have it - but when a car like a brand new 370z leaves the forecourt its already depreciating. Get Nissan to throw it in as part of the deal, and its a great freebie to have in case of the worst, and it means you can get a brand spanking new 370z again, not be left out of pocket. Dont pay for it though, make Nissan take the hit
  12. Its a very personal thing as to how much you can get off the price and how much you can get chucked in, depends on who you speak to (ie sales man or sales manager), and how hard you want to push them. As a marker, I'd aim for 10% off a cars list price and see how far you can go, When you've pushed them to the limit on price, then talk about the freebies. How hard you push depends on if you want to feck them off or not. If you plan to have them do the servicing and any warrenty work, its not worth annoying the hell out of them to get a few freebies for them to then take a dislike to you! You'd have to speak to Nissan dealership about the satnav, havent seen that deal until now. For the kick plates, they are alu and illuminated like this:
  13. Nice one mate, glad it all worked out
  14. Sorry couldnt make it tonight Weather looks great though, if a little cold!
  15. Yup, use the RSS feed or get an iPad
  16. Talking to PN about trialing the new Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) stuff that BT have installed. A mate has it via BT Infinity and has 40Mbps connection speeds. Will be nice to get the speed up a bit from my 4Mbps Basingstoke is finally useful for something
  17. The general concensus is that at lower speeds and on the dyno, there isnt enough cold air into the engine bay to keep the pop charger happy, and in these situations the standard airbox will do better. I have seen this logging it on the road and dyno, and on the dyno my car was a lot hotter than on the road at the same wheel speeds. This will cause you to lose power in the real world if the car is mapped as it is mapped in the hotter conditions and as such some timing will be dialed out to stop det. All the pop charger has over the standard air box is at higher rev (I mean really high, near red line), it can breath better. For day to day driving the standard airbox will be slightly better than the pop charger, but the pop charger makes a briliant noise!
  18. Missed a bit (Obviously Stews fault!) Looks good chaps, well done
  19. Glad its all sorted Moved to other cars as its not strictly Zed related
  20. Oh and another thing to note for the geeks out there is that 21CN will move voice services off PSTN and onto IP based services, freeing up yet more bandwidth on the local phone networks
  21. Yes, 21CN (century network) is the rolling out of fibre optic connections. My understanding is that they are replacing all the copper pair wiring with fibre lines, starting by doing the main exchanges to local boxes, and then at some point the local boxes to houses. Also branded as BT Infinity if you want to google it. I can get it in my area, but only from BT which means paying an extra tenna a month, and it will up my speeds to 15MBps. My friend is a lucky sod, his house is a stones throw from his local exhange, has done the upgrade and has 40MBps! Grrrrr!
  22. to the club! 1) How much discount have you negotiated when buying your 370? Depends on what you count as discout. I always find it better to get bits thrown in rather than haggling money off the price. Hold your own though, and you can get a decent amount off. Remember, when they tell you an amount they will knock it off, work it out as a percentage, and play that back to them. Its supprising how little as a percentage some good sounding discounts actually are. 2) What freebies did you squeeze into the deal? Or have you managed to secure any accessories/financing at cost price? I would push for gap insurnace to be included. Nissan want something extortionate as £700 for gap insurance! So thats a good saving. Then its the usual mats, etc. See what you can get. 3) I read somewhere Nissan are throwing in free sat nav when you upgrade to the GT model. Is this true? Not heard that, but wouldnt put it past them. Nav doesnt come as standard on the GT model, but it did come as standard on the GT Ultimate (yellow) and does on the Black Edition 4) Assuming point 3 is true; do you think its worth going for the black edition? I'm slightly bias as I have ordered one, but I would say yes. But only in Quartz as thats the limited edition colour. Personally I dont think its worth it for a plain black one 5) Can anyone recommend a good dealership? (I don't mind where in the country they are!) WLGM in Slough have been great to me. Mention you are a member of the club, speak to G or Abid and they will sort you out 6) Currently Nissan are offering 2 years free servicing. Has anyone managed to get this extended to 3 years? Not heard of this, but again, if they want to make the sale, its not a lot for them to give up to get your custom. Hope that all helps
