In my mind (and not offence to black owners), its a 40th Anniversary Edition which should be in Quartz as with the rest of the world. Ok to JDM had red too, but most of the 40ths are Quartz and it was meant to be a 40th only colour
  3. I havent done it in the 370, but did in the 350. One thing I learnt was not to use cheap LEDs, they burn out too quickly.
  4. Doesnt bother me much if they dont post a price, I will always ask a trader the best price they can do for me. If I've been a loyal customer, I'd expect a bit of extra discount. When I was hammering my 350z up and down the motorway and getting it serviced every 5 months, and getting it serviced at the same place every time, I got more discount, and rightly so, I was giving them good repeat business. I dont see this as any different. However, I do prefer if a trader posts up an item specifically for sale then they give their current price for the item
  5. Oh and of course, because ours are Quartz, they are the quickest too, lest not forget
  6. 095 - Chris`I - Quartz 104 - Chippy -Quartz 135 - MBS - Quartz Mine is the lowest number/first customer Quartz in the UK, confirmed by NMGB Make sure you add your name to the international list on www.the370z.com too
  7. 4 bucket method FTW
  8. They have 550hp cars in the States on auto boxes. IIRC Stillens SC was test benched on the auto G37s which is the same hardware as the 370z
  9. Yeah, manual shift mode can also be jerky if the gearbox is cold. Best to leave it in auto for 10 mins while it all warms up - which is good practice anyway on a manual car - let it warm up before giving it some beans And fully agree Col, for you the manual is definately the one
  10. People Martin doesnt know arent worth knowing Our very own WhosWho of the interweb
  11. As above, they are the 2 methods I was going to suggest. It takes a while to get used to various forum software, but once there, the search function is very handy.
  12. There will always be a (percieved) delay in upshift as it is just a standard auto box with torque converter and not twin clutch style, but its not more than changing gear yourself, its only about half a second for it to do the full change, let alone react to you. You soon get used ot the sensation, and actually it does it quicker than most humans can, bar race, test or exceptionally good drivers. Put it this way, from the lights, I can keep up with my mate in his Evo running ~380HP, if not beat him on a good day. They are about the same weight and I think my car looses out by about 30HP, but he has 4WD to launch him. There are a few funnies with it though. It also doesnt like to be driven in manual unless you are giving it some. At half assed city driving speeds, the manual mode really does feel like it does slow shifts. Try them flat out and they are perfect. If not driving flat out you are far better off in full auto, but use the padddles to shift still and that will overrride it. Also when city driving, if you change and dont accelerate, the torque converter wont lock, which gives you a very detached feeling as when you then do get on the accelerator, it takes half a second or so (depending on how hard you accelerate) to lock the torque converter which can feel like a slipping clutch.
  13. Same as the GTR The others have it covered really. All I can add is this is the first auto I've driven where I considered it on par enough with a manul to buy one. Point to point I'd dare say the auto has it over the manual, even though I can heel toe as second nature, the auto shifts are quicker. The manul does offer the lovely feeling when nail a shift though. Drive both and make your decision.
  14. My Zed is no longer my daily driver, but I dont have a shed, I have this instead...
  15. Actually think mine were steel now I go look at them again. They are like these ones from RR
  16. Dont see why internal drive ones wouldnt work. Dont have a link to my ones sorry. They are just Alu 17mm ones, closed ends on them. RR will sort you out though, they know the wheels so they will do you something suitable I'm sure
  17. I found the walkers far better than the ones down here. They moved over every time and always gave a smile when you thank them. I'd love to see some horses try going up and down some of that stuff we did though
  18. You need some 17mm nuts. I tried with my originals on my Rotas and they didnt fit at all (21mm IIRC). Phil sent me some smaller ones as a temporary replacement which barely fit (19mm) and then some proper ones which were 17mm I seem to remember. RR should sort you out EDIT: mine look amazingly similar to the Titans you posted.
  19. Nahhh, go for it, afterall it's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission.
  20. No idea which is the latest version officially, but they can load up new versions as and when they become available, so if you are concerned then contact Nissan I'll check my version in a bit, but given that this model hasnt been out long, I wouldnt imagine that there are any updates yet. As already said, the 6 CD changer was swapped out for Connect Premium (single CD and HDD). AFAIK, there wasnt any updates to the marketing literature for this. I will ask NMGB and see if they are aware or if we have just been given out of date literature (which could well be the case!)
  21. My turn then. Not many of Andrew as he was usually half a mile away down the hill (Excuse the crappy camera making everything green too!)
  22. You are correct Rich. The MY06+ models have BiXenon, which is a single HID bulb and projector for dipped and high beam, which uses a shuttler to operate the high beam funtion. Pre MY06 models have a single HID bulb and projector and a "normal" halogen bulb for high beam duties. I dont think legally HIDs have to be focused by projectors, but given the extra light output they offer, its common sense that manufacturers use them. They also have the advantage of making the light unit much smaller than an equivellant reflector unit and also a far far better cut off pattern. HIDs do however have to be self levelling and have a washing function.
  23. Great news, well done buddy, thats a move in the right direction, because it pays for the Zed. What software were you a developer in? The big growth area in IT atm is Business Intelligence, if you get an opportunity to do that and jump at it. Give it a few years and then go inderpendant and you could have a GTR
  24. Just realised I'm not technically back from hols on the Sunday so wont be able to make it
  25. I might take one of them there tickets if there are any going spare? Need to agree it with the boss, but need to make the car earn its keep, its not getting out at the moment.
