  1. Azure 350 thanks for the offer. I'll be in touch nearer the date. All offers of help are gratefully received. Lexx - poor excuse. Tre Trent is navigable up to Gunthorpe, I'm sure someone will pick you up from the Unicorn if you can squeeze through the locks.
  2. IThere should be three copies of your keycode supplied with your Focus. One is onn a card about the same size as a credit card but just ordinary cardboard. It is on the bottom of a long thin strip of card containing key code instructions in various languages. The other two are sticky bits of printed instructions bearing your keycode which you should stick somewhere safe.If your mum is not the first owner have a look round various places inside the car where someone may have stuck the stickers. If your car had alloys with locking wheel nuts you will need the keycode if you lose the special tool. HTH

  6. As in post 2. My youngest son had what sounds a similar problem in his car (not Z) on Sunday. He has been told it's the crank sensor (or crank angle sensor whatever its proper name is). Apparently you need some sort of fault reader to check this.
  7. I have a friend whose son is a pilot. Although I can no longer remember the figures I know it cost him many many £K's to qualify and with no guaranteed prospects of a job. He was then several years unemployed by that industry despite loads of job applications plus he had to keep up his flying hours, retests and medicals, all of which he has had to pay for. He is now employed as a pilot but not by a major airline. I think it would be a big financial risk for you with no guarantee of work despite any qualifications you may gain.
  8. I sold my roadstar 18 months ago but I've still got the 260Z and my 280ZX so I suppose I still qualify?
  9. I recently suffered similar damage to my ST3, all three nearside pannels. I went to a couple of local bodyshops and was quoted the same price at both. It cost me £200 for all 3 pannels which I thought was good. As I don't use the car much and their storage space is limited I told them to phone me when they had a slot. I took it in on a Wed. lunchtime and got it back Friday lunch. Fabulous job I was well pleased. The garage I used was in Nottingham if that's any use to you.

  12. they are about but not cheap. One like that with robello engine tripple 40's or 45's custom zorst would be nearly (but not quite) impossible to find in the UK. I only know of two. I have an early 260Z on my drive looking for a good home but it needs A LOT of work.
  13. I too have been down the 300zxTT route and it cost me an arm and two legs! I would not have another. My son has one which is abosolutely fabulous and goes like poo off a teflon shovel. It was far faster than my 350 and all the local scoobys. However it's usually in the workshop more than it's out on the road. If you were to still consider one I would be looking at the 300ZX N/A as it's far more reliable and only slightly down on performance with the TT. If you want to be really cool I think RSJ on here still has his n/a convertible for sale and that is a car very well known in the Z community. Well worth considering as being a rag top it will appreciate in value more quickly. Take note of what Hollowpoint has said. If we haven't talked you out of it be very very careful and go to buy with someone who knows about them. Bear in mind you can pick them up for between £1k and £9k and that spending a lot of money doesn't buy you out of trouble. If you are looking for something more of a classic then try a 280ZX or a 300zx Z31. These will be the next Datsun/Nissan classics. Although appreciating in price the Z32 is still at the back of the queue.

  15. I've recently purchased a very nice Datsun 280ZX. I just had a look through some old paperwork and found a bill for a 10,000 mile service dated Feb 82. labour £28.00 engine oil 8.00 oil filter 3.64 spark plugs 5.80 wynn's additive2.10 vat 7.13 54.67 paid with thanks. what's the price of an equivalent service on the 350Z ? and when you've paid up will it say 'paid with thanks' ? I doubt it. no I haven't got any pics yet and my very rough 260Z can be for sale to anyone wanting a project (no pics of that either)
  16. we had a trader at Zed-Fest from the 300zx.co.uk forum -CJ Tuning- selling all sorts of coloured nuts bolts washers etc for engine dress up. If you look him up on that site there are several pictures of some of the stuff he sells and a contact phone no.

  18. Please note: If you are coming Friday there will be no food available on site. There are several takeaways available in Calverton about 2 miles away. Drinks will be available. On Saturday bacon rolls and sandwiches, will be available in the morning only hot and cold drinks all day.. Sunday food and drinks will be available all day.
